Accuracy International Picture Thread

Proof is corporate owned. I've "heard" that they are a bigger shop and hirer a lot of tool changers to man the CNC machines. Bartlein is probably a relatively small company compared to proof. I have never had an issue with the proof barrel and one of the most accurate barrels have ever had was a proof. I think their barrels are really good but I think in the mass sample size out there Bartlein reigns as the most consistently high performing barrels. And they have a pretty big following so there's a lot of competition to buy their barrels. I think in terms of supply and demand they can charge quite a bit more because people are willing to pay that for a Bartlein barrel.

If you are relatively new to the precision rifle I would just save your duckets and get a proof barrel. I doubt you're going to see a difference between the two. You have to be reloading and shooting at a pretty high level. I think there are a lot of new shooters that agonize over this brand versus that brand and then they feed their rifles factory ammo.
Makes sense. Thank you! I know both brands are reputable. I am going to go with PR then.

Ohhh Great and powerful AI Gods...

Asked a question and coming in search of truth

- Can someone tell me if the Competition trigger shown will fit an AW manufactured in 96?

Appreciate the time

Thank you

My buddy finally listened and bought a accuracy obsession / vision chassis for his AX.

So helped him with the install. Here is a couple pics

To piggy back on what Ryan said, you get MLOK for any rail attachments including an exterior weight option and internal weight option, grip panels allow any AR15 compatible grip of your choice, and it makes women's panties moist.

Hey, for an AX, how does that RRS Arca grip replacement block feel to your hands when you grab it and carry the rifle?

I bought the Sawtooth version because it looks way cooler, but damn it hurts to grab and actually carry the gun. The RRS design looks like it would sort of semi-shield one’s hand from the sharpish Arca bits.

The rrs is way better to hold than the sawtooth one... However it is still a big square block with the endges are rounded really smooth...

Is this the one that hurts your little fingers ?

I’d take this all day over that RRS 2x4

😩😭😫 waaaaahhhhhhh!

But yes, my widdle tiny soft baby hands were hurt by that big bad thing!

Looks 20x better though.

If it had been designed so there was material that overhung the Arca angles, it would’ve been tits. That way my Skin-So-Soft™ mitts would rest upon the overhang and not on 45° metal angles.

I assume that’s why the RRS is more comfy.

Comp guys where taking the plastic forend grip/ RRS plate from the AX/ AXMC/ AICS AX, to have a 'flatter' surface of contact (with forend), when rifle was placed on a bag while shooting off a prop.

The Sawtooth dovetail is able blend in, while still giving guys a tripod mounting point, maintaining a low profile, 'flatter' surface of contact.

But yeah man, the design ain't for everyone. I mean, people work out with gloves... so, not much different. lol

Well if you need the RRS aux plate, I know a guy that has one that he will probably never use again

I get it, there’s always workarounds. But let’s design it right from the start. I suggest Sawtooth add those overhangs, plastic for cold weather (like the other hand-touching bits AI made).

Yeah that would have made a huge difference. When I had my AX I went back to the RSS from the Dependabilt just because of this.

Needs to be in the shape of an erect cock and balls to match the mounting system of the forearm. Some nice Feng Shui that would tie it all together.

Lol.

So how are you gripping the rifle when you carry it?

I just picked up my obese 6.5PRC setup. And the only issue I saw when trying to carry that fat b* with 1 hand was, when I tried to have my whole palm underneath the dovetail plate.

How I carry it, is with my palm on the side of the plate, fingers wrapped underneath the plate and onto the other side.
Pic to give you an idea

Again, I don’t have an issue with it, you do. The product isn’t going to satisfy everyone.
But I’ll let him know…

So, grip the rifle on the Sawtooth, like in that pic you posted. Then level out the gun to be parallel to the ground. Walk with it one-handed for 50-100yards. That’s what I’m talking about.

Perhaps your real name is Magnus von Magnusson and you are The World’s Strongest (& Toughest) Man, but hey, the Sawtooth hurts me.

It’s a military rifle, not a PRS space gun. Non-PRS guys tend to carry their rifles in the field, and there’s a very good reason the weak-side OEM grip is a) plastic and b) doesn’t hurt one’s hand.

My suggestion is merely to to keep some of the functionally of the OEM grip (that went through a bunch of military testing) while adding the Arca. RRS used a metal overhang, but they also made the gun a bit uglier.

I’m sorry to even mention it?

As most things in life, results boil down to the user. Neither design is wrong so i would put a glove on or run the RRS

I have an AX and i run a non nitride Sawtooth which in theory should be even sharper and ive never had an issue with bare handing it, hot or cold.

Does your finger with those gloves on even fit in the trigger guard?
