Also at Hogdon directly, but at $550 for 8# shipped I passed, just cant bring myself to spend that much on 8208. I hear its amazing but wow.........
not really magnum primers based on what I have seen in 6.5 creedmoor. they were very accurate with 41.5 of H4350 and the Hornady 140 aeromatch (.5 and then a .6moa 10 shot group string) however they were 30fps behind my CCI450 loads with the same brass, powder, and bullets. they give me the same velocity as the CCI BR4 and REM 7 /12's in my SRP 6.5. However with staball 6.5 they performed abysmally with the same load data that produced half minute groups in my 142SMK load. quite odd.
In my 5.56 loads, with 24gr of TAC and a 77gr SMK, they were about 40-50 FPS ahead (2720 average out of a 16 inch barrel with Can instead of 2670) and had a much smaller SD (15 SD instead of 25-30) so I will be loading the rest of these into my 5.56 loads and saving my 450's for my 6.5 Creed. excited to see how they do in 6mm ARC with both Lever and Varget behind the 106 DOD A Tips. Overall Good find.

Well, H4895 8lb sold out in 19 minutes at Powder Valley. $429.99 for an 8 and $59.99 a 1 lb. I missed.
Hodgdon direct, Natchez, and now powder valley have all listed it in recent days... Be ready for it to show up at another dealer soon and jump on it.
I had 4 8# jugs in my cart at powder valley just a few minutes ago and was entering my credit card info but decided to pass on it. I snagged 20 pounds from PV back in October of 23 the last time they had it in stock and still haven't used all of that. They only had 1# containers at that time and they were $47 each, and I thought I was paying too much then.
I'll probably regret my decision to pass on it today, lol
I think there is a typo on the web page, MP 580 is similar to IMR 4451 not H4350 . I have some MP580 from a while ago and its like
IMR 4451.

Well, it was sorta a perfect storm, the farthest thing from cheap, not close to home, but some unicorn dust made its way into my cabinet.
AR just had a butt load of it for dirt cheap maybe a month ago. And it didn't fly off their shelves in 2 seconds like it does anywhere. It actually lasted.
Of reloader 26? I do not believe you.
Cause suppliers, inuding my boss, have been trying to get it and alliant said "not for the foreseable future". Other powders yes, but not 26.
Ive been told(could just be bullshit) that military contracts have it all tied up. I have seen it pop up on websites, all are scams. Last keg on gun broker i saw was 1k, and someone bought it. Not me.

I saw that, but is this "THE" RL26 being discussed? You know it's RL26 because it says "similar to RL 26"?
I asked them once upon a time long ago... why they didn't just call their pull-down materials by their original names.
It went down a legal rabbit hole, but the short version is they are protecting themselves from a legal view point where they are not allowed to use the original commercial names for pull-down even if they know for certain what it is.
There are some instances where they get material from ammo that they really aren't guaranteed the traceability, but then they take on the burden of telling users what to expect, again without being able to claim it or name it directly.
Just another example of silly human behavior and too many unethical people and lawyers in the world... Caveat Emptor

Midwest Powders are great. I have used dozens of kegs at this point and all have been flawless.
As stated above, they can’t call the powders by their original names for liability reasons but they are nicely labeled and are absolutely up to snuff.
You may not get exactly the same results as other loads due to the potential for pull downs to contain mixed lots, but it should be consistent enough for you to develop separate but similar load data using it.
