Chase involving the usual suspects in a stolen SUV ended in a fiery crash. Problem solved. Problem staying solved.

They left the scene, finished their shift and went home. No report, no nothing.

This is too easy, union lawyers already instructed them on their statement.
"We broke off the vehicle pursuit when we believed speeds reached a dangerous
level. We did not witness any vehicle collisions."

Their marked patrol vehicle was caught on surveillance cameras leaving the scene, a police source said.

Public Safety Doctrine. SCOTUS has ruled that the police are not obligated to the safety of the taxpayers. To Serve and Protect is a joke. A joke that they tell the people every day.

This doesn't look good for the department and they will probably get some time off for it or even fired , at which time they will resign so they can go work in another town, no legal action will stick.

They should have dragged him out of the burning wreckage and sustained heavy burns over most of their bodies, only to be written up for chasing him in the first place.

The proper thing to do would have been to call the Fire department and the EMS if they didn't want to get involved in the fire and then stay on the scene to make sure it was all properly handled and reported it properly.

Yes the police actually have duties to do things properly and by the book, otherwise what do we need those Uniform Hangers for?

Sure the guy was a dirtbag and deserved it.
BUT
Once they started the pursuit, they have no right to claim "didn't see nothing, weren't there"...

*Now that I think about it boat captains are required to assist boats in trouble. Higher standard than uniform hangers.

*unless you are a dei captain causing the trouble, then just go back to the galley.

Police are not firemen.

The hardest part about the job, the part no cop wants to do, would be contacting the owner of the stolen vehicle.

Law enforcement is a joke! Regarding employment choices, LE and Lawyers are the some of the worst people walking the earth! I can't imagine doing those jobs daily and then laying my head down to sleep. "Heros"......ummmm, ok!?!?

Did the car thief die in the fire? I don't like wishing ill will on people, but hopefully he won't be stealing other people's hard earned shit anymore!
