This is an old magnavox I restored. I get them from those old consoles folks used to have in the living room. Recap and change them into stand alone Amps.

Like diverdon I already spend more time SCUBA diving. If I could still do that it would be my choice. If I couldn't, then I guess I'd go old school wood working - like 18th century style wood working, or maybe restore a 1965-66 Mustang Convertible GT.

At that point my quality of life would be shit. I'd go back to chewing Copenhagen. The last time I chewed was September 5, 2011. I still think about Copenhagen every day. After all, IT SATISFIES.
I would be dead. That's the only thing that will stop me honestly. I've simply got too much time, money, connections and for what it's worth, experience, to take up much of anything else!
+100. After about 40 years' use and 3 or 4 attempts at quitting, the last attempt started last June and is still ongoing. This time seems to be taking root, but, as you said, I think about it every day. I made it 3 years once, but it never goes away and you're always just one crisis from starting again.
I never dipped after I quit. I knew that "just once" would never happen. I feel like Copenhagen is part of my DNA. After you've quit something that is bad you should feel like like you've done something positive. In my case I don't feel that way. I had a cancer scare that led to my abstinence. To bottom line this, I quit solely because I felt I was buying years w/ the kids. That is my sole motivation for quitting. Nothing more.
Well having lived OCONUS for 7yrs (4 in Afgh, 3 in Chicago) I've had to contemplate this, and I followed Clearlight 's path of too much beer and cigarettes along with Tucker301 's plan of hanging in the Pit.
Im looking forward to the move back home to the South where I can start wearing out guns vs buying them. But if I were facing a real end to shooting then I'd probably expend every round from every case of ammo in my gun room and offer the responding officers a cold beer and the leftovers of my vault when they arrived.

That is always a determining factor, isnt it. I expected to be retired in Oaxaca, or Costa Rica, by now, but the reality of 'You cant have that AR." jsut has a nasty ring.
Yeah, Costa Rica changed their gun laws for expats a while back. They were high on my list until the change.
Bali is a very real possibility for me eventually, but living amongst a religious minority (Hindus) surrounded by the largest Muslim population in the world without a means of self defense isn't something to be taken lightly.
Woodworking. When I was a kid my dad and I refinished several antique oak rocking chairs. I would also spend more time to helping people with post traumatic stress injury. I also like reading a lot.

If I couldn't shoot, it would mean I was too old to hold a gun. Since a gun is light, that would mean a bourbon bottle and glass would be too heavy. Therefore lighting a cigar and holding a bourbon glass would also be impossible. If the dick didn't work, definitely walk in front of a semi...but I would have to make sure it was driven by a democrat liberal so my final act would scar him or her for life

You can just move from the game of trying to be as good as you can, to the game of trying to have the ultimate equipment / science.
Instead of you shooting your gun holding it, you have a custom gun in a return to zero rail gun stand with remote trigger release.
Instead of looking through your scope, you have cameras at the target areas and big view screens and mini radar systems
Instead of focusing on how well you can pull the trigger, you focus on how perfect of a load you can get, the perfect barrel lengths and twists, the perfect caliber, perfect bullet design etc.
Basically you change from trying to advance your specific skill behind the gun into advancing the science of shooting in general. You become the guru that competitive shooters seek out when they are looking for an edge to win.

Get a dirt bike for exercise (thought you had a dirt bike already), get a Harley or Honda gold wing and go see out beautiful country. Our country is big, its beautiful, its full of good people, except the cities which has half good half bad people. Go see the country.
Jerry, though Id use a different vehicle, I 110% agree on seeing our beautiful country. As fucked up as it may be with snowflakes, California alone holds some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, and just dont get me started on the Grand Canyon. I hiked the North Rim to the River and back when I was about 23. I can still remember it like yesterday. Yellowstone is next on my list.
I'm gunna be in big trouble for trolling a mod.

Shooting IS my 2nd passion.
I miss and love riding sport bikes/motorcycles at racetracks and canyons. Sold my bike after the birth of my first child... have not gotten another since. Tried a full dress tourer, tried a 5-speed Miata (kinda fun, but not even close... though I really like convertibles), but in the end I realized that nothing motorsports is going to match pulling around a turn hanging off with your knee on the ground.
So... I now plink at targets with my guns. Not the same at all, but very fun nevertheless. Much safer.
I like shooting .223 more than 6.5, even though I have both.
I liked running a modified 600 hard over a lightly modded open class bike, even though I had both.

Photography...Fuji X-T2 with a small but specific bag of Fujinon primes. Expat to somewhere in the Alps; Switzerland, Austria, Eastern France, Italy, in that order. Photography has been a good excuse to travel. I've been taking practice trips, have a bunch of stunning shots of the mountains. Think I could almost make a living at it, but I've turned hobbies that I loved, into jobs in the past. Don't really want to do that with photography.
And fall river fishing for Coho and Chinook in NW Washington. Rain ? Yep, but hopefully only drizzling. Makes fishing that much better and beer that much colder.

Insidious question; I have no answer. I really, totally don't. But I wouldn't self-terminate; I would simply have to get more inventive about shooting and/or finding a satisfying substitute. I've been though too much crap already to be taking the long walk on the short pier at this point. There is always going to be a will, and there will likewise always turn out to be a way. There always has.
I'll deal with it when/if it actually happens.

If I can't shoot and am still alive, I'll likely be in hospice care and handcuffed to a bed. I gave up motorsports racing to shoot in my late 20s as it is a competitive venture I don't see any reason I can not do until the grave. Might I have to give up the heavier recoiling guns as I continue to get older? Sure. I don't care it if is BB guns or airsoft, I won't stop shooting. I have shot with people with traumatic brain injuries, no legs, MS, even a paraplegic. Like Greg said, where there is a will there is a way.
