Why do Frank Galli & Jacob Bynum run AI guns?

Mine came with a folder, spigot, Atlas, 20moa rail, NV bridge (extra operator points), side rail kit, and a threaded 5/8-24 barrel for a bit cheaper than that.
Jacob, thank you for chiming in as well. Have spent hours watching/practicing/referencing your videos!

Anyone have a pic of an AT with an AX stock?

I have a 700 AX chassis that I’m debating robbing the stock off of. I could likely still sell the ax with the AT stock as a pre-14 setup and make out alright.
If anyone is looking for an AX308. Not sure if it's a good deal, but it's an option.

@Lowlight - I remember watching the Ruger RPR video where you 'compared' it to an AI. IIRC, they accuracy, in a limited test, was pretty similar. Been awhile since I watched it - and that was for a Gen1? Obviously, the AI is a higher quality firearm, but at what level of shooter is being held back by a RPR, or what level does someone need to be 'justify' an AI.
I don't know who I'm kidding. I'm going to end up with an AI. I've got guns nervous in the safe because they know they are on their way out, like the STI Edge I hadn't shot in 5 years, to bank roll it.

Saw this and thought it was interesting, looks like it’s an AXMC long action post 14, but with the pre 14 buttstock?

Pretty sure that's a cow hide...gotta do something with the dumb SOB's when they run into the pipe panel wall (and break their necks) instead of into the chute for loading.

I recently just upgraded from an AE MKIII to an AXMC that I picked up from Euro Optic (FYI if you purchase with a check over the phone you get an even better deal!)
I couldn’t be happier with the gun. I had my old AE for about 5 years and it was a hammer. I’ve owned custom rifles on the past and still own a few but there’s just something about AI that says “quality & reliability” plus, I didn’t wanna wait 6-8 months for a custom to be built when I can purchase an AI now and go shoot.

Curious to hear why you upgraded. I have a MKIII as well, and it is just awesome. I chose it over the others at the time, because it weighed less, but still had most of the features I wanted. Of course, it still isn't light by any means. Nonetheless, the ability to change calibers is pulling me towards the new stuff. Seems silly to have both guns, but I don't know that I want to get rid of my MKIII

I'm in the same boat. Recently acquired a MKII w/ an 18" .308 barrel, and picked up a 24" 6.5CM for it as well. Problem is, I need a barrel vise, action wrench, and torque wrench to swap. An AT would be amazing for the simple fact that I could swap barrels in a minute or two. But I just can't convince myself that the quick swap feature is worth the extra $1500 it would cost me to upgrade!
So I'll probably save up for an AT (or better) and add it to the safe eventually to keep the MKII company.

I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to sell the MKIII or keep it and just get an AX but in the long run I was trying to simplify things and didn’t need to add another gun to the safe. I know a few guys that have kinda consolidated there rifles down to an AX for the simplicity of just running one rig and having the ability to switch calibers. If you can afford it then keep it and get a new one.
Honestly guys I have a AX and I never change the barrel. It's a short action only so a 6.5 creedmoor does everything I need to do. I haven't found a reason to switch from 6mm to 6.5 to 308 or others
This is not a great reason, but I find myself wanting a 16" lightweight barrel for most day to day shooting, and a longer heavier one for LR shooting or the very occasional comp. I've been shooting my Fix as a 20" 6.5 lately and its awesome, but the 16" lighter weight 308 is also really awesome, and does most of what I need doing. If it was easier to swap barrels, I might just use it. I realize that most of you will have two guns to accomplish what I want, but I really like having the exact same ergos and scope, without having to buy two almost identical guns and scopes.
In regards to the AI, it is pretty much my absolute favorite gun to shoot, but I hate carrying it around. If I put a 16" proof barrel on it, and changed the chassis out for a non folding version, it might weigh enough less, and balance better, that I would want to carry it around. IDK, never tried it.
Any short action cartridge will basically do what I want, no real reason for me to change caliber from 6.5 to 308, or vice versa. Just looking for the right size and weight for the application.
I guess it would help with re-barrelling and the time of sending it off to be done.
How many QD scopes are never moved?
