Would somone mind posting a pic of the back of the bolt lug on their impact action bolt? I'm seeing a rough edge in the corner of mine and I was wanting to see if mine is similar to somone elses. Thank you

That's what i'm trying to find out.Is it galling?
There was another picture posted a while ago of a Impact bolt galling, but the post was quickly deleted for some odd reason.
Ok mine looks maybe a little more wear than that but not too much. Thank you for the pics. Here is my bolt. It has been greased probably heavier then required but I always over lube.
you can see that both lugs have a little wear on opposite side of each other.
This is after 2500 live fire rounds and probably 10k dry fires.

Can you take pics of the opposite side?
Thank you
I guess my question would be for all the ones that have the wear like mine, has accuracy went down or are they still shooting as good as ever?
Better and slicker with age!I guess my question would be for all the ones that have the wear like mine, has accuracy went down or are they still shooting as good as ever?

I don't see hardly any wear on yours in the corners.Pretty sure mine has that too and i'm pretty diligent about greasing my lugs on pretty much every action i own. Nothing irritates me more than a gritty cam over when chambering. Though could've been the 308 BF bolt i had. Having said that i might have some galling, i've had a couple of stiff bolt lifts in the last sequence of load development for the 7 SS.
Only have 116 rounds on mine, though i'm pushing. I want these 180gr ELD-Ms at 2950~3000fps.

I have 2 of these actions and both have similar wear but not this bad.
its where the lug makes contact with the cam
im a bit OCD about cleaning and greasing those area's
One thing that will make this worse is if the brass is tight and you have to force the bolt closed
I've got the barrel out of one action of my actions I'll try and remember to get some pics in the morning
i would for sure be interested in seeing a picture of your new bolt.im pretty sure its not wear and the leading edges are just knocked down for slicker lock up transition
ive got a new bolt in my safe at home i can look at later, but im pretty sure all 3 of mine came like that
its the leading edge of the camming surfaces of the bolts...it hasnt changed on any of mine in 2k rounds on one, and 6-7k on the other
i would for sure be interested in seeing a picture of your new bolt.
Thank you for the pics.
