GM wants to keep the warranty repair costs down and marketing up!
And when the 75% burn out a clutch they complain and want it covered under warranty, NOPE!
That's why if you want MTM 'vette it'll be special order.

It wasnt that GM decided to push that all on their own, it was what the sales numbers told them to do. They have way more sales data and survey data than we would ever know what to do with. The C6 Z06 a LOT of people said they wouldnt buy it since it was manual only...so they make the C7Z06 and ZR1 available in auto. Chevrolet dealers "generally" know what their customers want and order appropriately. Custom order customers REALLY know what they want and they order that.
C6 and C7(maybe c5, im not as familiar with that generation) 0-60 numbers were done with a manual from what I know... Neither require a shift out of first gear...
GM warranty costs on the auto in the C7 is probably way high because the 8 speed paired with the DOD/AFM equipped engine trashes the transmissions/torque converters. Happens in the trucks and anything else that has a DOD/AFM engine with the 8 speed.
I dont know to many people with manual vette's that burn out the clutch on factory power.
The 2020 vette is no manual at all, cant even order it. DCT transmission only. So far im hearings its a great trans. Time will tell. The 10spd auto in the Camaro which has now made its way into a bunch more vehicles is also a FANTASTIC automatic transmission(I had a 2018 ZL1 with it, absolute joy to drive).
While both of my current vette's are manual, I dont HATE auto's especially the newest ones. Ill get a C8 at some point...im not going to NOT get one simply due to the fact it doesnt have a manual... I will say I will not buy a single GM vehicle that has the 8 speed auto in it... ive been REALLY looking at the last gen CTS-V with the LT4, but its only available with 8 speed auto... no thanks...
