Precision Rifles.....show em!!

Barrel #1 arrived in the mail yesterday. 20” Bart CF 6.5x47, my first attempt at a crossover rifle. 12 pounds with can, nearly half the weight of my 26” 6.5x47, and so much easier to move around with. Barrel #2 should arrive soon, a 22” Bart #4 bull spiral fluted 22 GT.

I know, I know it’s a Savage, but I’m actually digging this rifle, it’ll get me by while I wait for a Bighorn Origin action to show up and start building myself a good custom precision rifle. It shoots better out of the box than the 3 Remington 700’s I’ve had in the past.

Top:
Savage 110 308 Win
Magpul Hunter stock/BM
SWFA 10x42

Bottom: (My 9 year old daughter rig)
Ruger 10/22 action
Kidd heavy match barrel
Magpul x22 stock
Vortex Diamondback Tactical 3-9

New addition to the family
MPA PMR Pro2 w/cdg, 6.5cm 26”
Accu Tac FC4 G2
A pair of Gray Ops speed nuts w/Griffin sprm count 😜(I read the thread)
Element Nexus Gen2 mrad apr-2d
LRA Send It

I have a pair of Accu Tac BR 4 gen 1’s but damn
this FC4 is bonkers I Love it

And for those who are curious the mount is beefy and awesome
Easy to mount, I just followed the instructions but I did not remove the mount to finish/torque down the ring clamp bolts.
It was on sale for Labor Day so I grabbed it to give it a try, overall I like it

Some updates to the budget hunting/precision rifle…

Warne 1 piece Picatinny base
SWFA rings
SWFA level
Sponge camo on the stock (though the poor lighting this morning doesn’t show that off well)

All in with the scope, I’m at $980 for a sub MOA hunting rifle that I feel confident with out to 600 yards. 40 rounds down range so far with out any failure to feed or extraction issues, fingers crossed.

Doesn’t just look pretty!
5 shots cold bore today.
Group to the left was the week prior. It was when I swapped to the Foundation and move this Leupold over from another rifle.

One of the benefits of getting myself back into hunting/long shooting after many years is getting to teach my 9 year old daughter. I loved shooting and hunting with my dad and after he passed away I had a hard time continuing in the sport.

Here’s some photos of her working on building good positions with her Kidd 10/22

I love my Kidd. I think I love it more than than all my other rifles, CF or RM.

I wasn’t into guns when my offspring were little, and now I sorta just shoot alone. Nice to see you shooting with someone you love.

The Kidd is a blast to shoot, it was going to be my trainer, but on the fly one day (hoping to get her excited about shooting), I told her it was hers, haha.

Some of my best memories are shooting with my dad. He’s been gone a long time now, but I’m hoping to form new ones with my girl and maybe even get her out hunting with me one day.
