Yes. Target indicators on the bars would have been nice also. I was mostly punishing berms but was nice to get to a match

MR2. In my spotter. Ffp. I like it to measure targets / misses and “pre shoot” stages

And in case anyone didn’t look close and thought we were shooting full size ipsc lol.

Wish I realized you were there and using a Minox spotter, would love to get to look through it sometime!

I keep finding peace at shooting a lot more since Mom got diaged with bad C last month. I shoot almost every other day to clear my head. Lately been thinking about a new scope; maybe the 6-36 S&B with the new reticle. Then i forget. Waiting for my new barrel to come in this Friday. Then i will retire this one.

Can't you just lay down and shoot on the grass without a mat?

Can you shoot more than 200yds at this range?
200 yards is the max that was available to me. Not sure what else they might have there longer.

Yeah I could have just laid down, but wasn't really dressed for grass/dirt. I figured they had good benches. Live and learn.

Always take your mat. Even if planning to shoot off a bench, the mat placed on top of the bench makes things nicer all around.

Well…it went 4,287rds in AZ meth dust before it went down. I should have not been an asshole and just flushed it each time I tore it down rather than just hitting it with a brush. Popped the spare in and got back to work.

Lol, the sandpit gotcha, welcome to the club. Glad you had your backup. I've just started zippo fluid drenching mine from the top after a sandy/windy match.

You’re a 308 AI shooter!! We’re better than that. We look for the dirtiest, muddiest, lowest water seepage spot to lay in. It’s who we are, it’s what we do

6.5 guys bring their blanky and throw pillow!

This one time, at band camp, I put on face pant and went streaking through the quad. Despite being the fastest out of all of my invisible friends (and girlfriends who live in Canada but can’t afford to move to the US just yet), I still wasn’t fast enough to make my dad proud. That’s why I spend money on things like this:

Have you tried out the TT yet? Interested to hear your comparison b/t the ATACR, ZCO and this.

I have at the range but not at a match yet or side to side with the others (I don’t have them anymore). I like all three but I think the TT wins it out for me. But honestly not for anything other than that tool less zero feature. It’s tits. For me and my eyes, the ATACR and ZCO looked at brush and stuff (on the same power) at distance in the desert the same. The TT is just so easy to quickly float if you’re swapping calibers. Plan was to also try the SB636 but man I don’t think I’m going to pass this on. As for the turret “feel” (gay) they’re nice but I don’t see what the internet beats off too about their feel. They click, as they should. They feel nice but so do the ZCO 10Mil NLE turrets….and I liked the ATACR turret feel too. Glass seems to split hairs at this level, which is nice but honestly it’s clear and does really well in 105F mirage.

All in all I like the TT but I have a hard time saying I’d pay that high of cost out of pocket over an ATACR735. …plus the reticles are gay and Mil-XT and MPCT2X are at the top of my preferred reticles. …but I like the Gen3XR Fine a lot more than I thought I would. Although I hear the PST Gen 2 is the bee’s knees and maybe I should get that instead?

Looks like she’s the one to be painted this winter.

Thanks. I have the SB 6-36 with the new TR2ID, and ATACRs with Mil-XT (4-20) and Tremor 3(7-35), plus some SB 5-25s with H2CMR reticles. I shoot ELR, but just for fun, and I like the H2CMR a lot until I run out of Elevation and have to hold both Elevation and Wind, then I’m just guessing. I really like the Mil-XT but need more mag than just 4-20. I like the 7-35 ATACR just fine, but the Tremor3 is TOO busy. The SB 6-36 TR2ID is just about perfect for me so far, but if I thought the TT was noticeably better optically, and the Gen3 XR is not too fine, I wouldn’t be opposed to trying one. I haven’t looked hard at the ZCO 8-40, but I don’t think it has anything on the SB 6-36 from what I’ve seen so far.

i just closed my eyes, taped the lenses and autistically sprayed those with rustoleum. Feels good now

Did AI change the location of the serial # on the receivers? I just saw this on a GunBroker ad for an AT and I really, really dislike it if so. I know it shouldn't matter but it's just not right. The receiver is also a matte black which looks weird to me.

They did that because the AT-X chassis sits so high that it would cover where the original SN was.

I know exactly who here has my old AX.

It's still living a happy life, thanks for checking in on it. Currently has a 6 Dasher barrel on it. Had it out recently on a multi day hunting trip and it blew up about 300 ground squirrels. 55gr Nosler BTLFs at 3850 are spectacular on the little buggers. Got a couple of coyotes with it too.

I wish I could remember who I sold my AE Mk3 (my first AI purchase) and 2x ATs to, but those old PX threads and PMs were victims of the Scout transition.

AXSR people, what is the range of weight? Who has the heaviest AXSR and who has the lightest?

I have my first ever match this Saturday. I shoot a lot at my property but this is different. Any advice from AI crowd? I am all ears.
Tell everyone in your squad that it is your first match.

Take your time, have fun, learn a lot.

^^This, plus

Bring water, snacks, and sunscreen. Bug spray if appropriate. You're going to time out- try not to care, you can't miss fast enough to win.

Just have fun. If you stress to the point it isn’t fun you’ll just loose interest

- Nobody really cares how you shoot
- All the eyes behind you are not watching you
- Mishaps are part of the fun
- Yes your bolt lift was always that heavy

Focus on good trigger discipline and building good positions. Don't worry about the timer so much at this point and take your time to get good hits especially on barricades and other weird positions. Ask questions and don't go in with big expections for your performance.

Also help spot, police brass, etc.
