A friend of mine put one of those on a 5.56 ar and neither of us were impressed at all.
It was a Wilson combat rifle, 16" gun, and it was horribly over gassed. And loud.
I'd like to see this in person. This is the best flow through can on the market...period. Any data or video to support your claim??? I run these cans on AK platforms. The most over gassed rifle on the planet.
I'm sure the flow through cans are producing more decibels, no doubt, but I've never seen anyone complain about a HUXWRX flow through can producing substantial back pressure. Maybe they haven't shot many other cans? I'm running this on everything up to a NEMO .300WM and it's not even close to any of my standard baffled cans with respect to backpressure. Standards cans will wreck a SCAR series or AK rifle over time. Not a single issue on any of those platforms with their product.
Yeah, you're talking apples and oranges. I run this can on a 10.3 SCAR 16S. Standard baffled cans will ruin the rear mounting plate and hardware due to excessive BCG velocity. Nothing is going to make an SBR hearing safe. They are talking about title 1 rifles with 16" or great barrels above.
I'm sure their is a guntuber that's measured the sound difference between these cans and that's the reference they should use if they haven't captured the data themselves. I'll take the lack of wear and tear on the gas system and BCG over a few decibels any day!
I dont have any video of it. If you're close to the sweeny tx area pm me and come shoot with us. We were both pretty shocked. I felt bad because I suggested that can to him. He was a first time buyer, waited over a year to get it, then when he got it it was a major letdown.
He even went so far as to switch to the LMT enhanced bcg. Supposed to have a different cam path to help running suppressed.
I turned him on to the brt tubes after my success with one in my MWS. Not sure if he ever ordered one or not.
I should borescope his rifle and look at the port. It's gotta be huge. I believe it's a 16" mid gas.
So you've run a standard baffled can on that rifle for comparison...or not? I hate to string this out but the HUXWRX flow cans are head and shoulders better on all my gas guns with respect to back pressure and BCG velocity changes.
No, that's the only can he's ever ran on that gun. I can't imagine a baffled can on that gun.

Had a good morning with the MWS today. First time I've shot 175 gmm through it. It really likes 168 hornady black but the 175 seemed a little more consistent at 600 today.

So I have my gun in hand, MARS-H 7.62 16" CL barrel. My local FFL actually became an LMT dealer and has me an LMT AT Ion 30 Suppressor on the way. Once he gets it in his hands I will get the Form-4 E-Filed and start the wait time. I found a 4-16 ATACR with the Mil-XT reticle lightly used on the PX as suggested above, so that will be showing up today. Sphur mount and M-Lok Harris Bipod on the way from Mile High.
I guess my final question is, on the other thread about accuracy expectations, several guys talked about shooting the Federal T308T ammo, and it performing very well in their guns from an accuracy standpoint. I am wanting this to be a DMR style rifle, I'm designing this gun to shoot out to 600 yards max. If I need to poke something farther than that, I'm grabbing my bolt gun. I know the gun could be capable of farther, but I am not with a semi auto.
So my question is, at that max distance, am I going to see any benefit by going to the 175 class of bullets, or would a 168 be sufficient, especially out of a 16" barrel? I found a couple places online that have cases of 500 rounds of T308T in stock, I just wanted to ask before I ordered a whole case.

Joined the family today. Scope is a stand in until I figure out what I want to put on it. Also have a barrel ready to be spun up likely into a 20" to do a "mk11 we have at home". Got the kac suppressor so just need the gas block which isn't hard anymore. Wanted one of these quad rail mws for a long time now.... really excited to shoot her.

Sighted in the chrome lined 308 for a demo this week. Not bad for a 20 shot group.
168's or 175's ? My 16" chrome lined seems to prefer 175 fgmm. It put four on steel at 600 yards inside a half minute yesterday.
I thought it shot pretty good with the 168 hornady black, but its just more consistent with the 175.

I need to get out my 16" chrome lined and do some load development. It shot just under an inch at 100 yards with Hornady 178 BTHPs and one trial charge weight. It feels like it could be a hammer, especially for such a hard wearing barrel.
Natural light in the shop. Though my thought is it isn’t bright enough unless you’re wearing sunglasses during work.
How common is it for a 16" chrome lined barrel to not print anything less than 2moa with any 168/175 factory load and no less than 1.75moa handloads? Tried 2 scopes, 4 different factory loads, m118lr clone load and 9 different hands loads. I print 1/3moa with a good bolt gun and can print sub moa with a small frame. Trying really hard not to blame the barrel but in running out of things try.
I’d say pretty uncommon. LMT does test fire every barrel for function and accuracy before it leaves.
It's a used rifle. Bore scoped good. Zero gas port erosion.
I didn't pull the muzzle brake to see if that effected it though. The fa762ss brakes I've heard can be weird on some barrels and usmc used to just pull it off and try another if accuracy wasn't there. Just occurred to me. SDs and ESs on some of the loads are excellent so I'd be surprised if it's a shot out barrel.

also have a 13.5 (PW@16ATFyakunts). got the BRT buffer, xh weight thingy ma bob, resized tubes....point is everything runs flawlessly I cleaned everything once when I got it and nothing since. runs 147ball and 185juggs as well as 6.5cm pictured with 130's and 143's (almost all eject at 4OC), locks back on last shot and I don't ever have a gas out problem. somebody blessed my gun and I love to rub it in ppls faces lol! heart emoji y'all cmon laugh a lil

Correct. Once we get a batch done, they usually sell out within a few days.
Well fuck me sideways. Here are 2 sets of targets of the same rifle, scope, barrel, mags, box of ammo, range, atmospheric conditions and shooter. Only thing that changed was the damn muzzle brake. Surefire otb brake vs normal surefire flash hider. Probably has it in her to do better but this was what I was able to do today.
Never ever had a muzzle device change things this much, usually if anything it's just poi. Love the rifle now though.

I’m hoping to test mine out soon. I have a brt suppressed (.089) I think it is tube. On an 18” 308 LMT rifle gas length barrel. Going to try some 175 FGMM. I’ll leave my slash XH and rifle length spring to see if it cycles. If not I’ll put the H3/spring from factory back in it
My can is a 36M Omega
I'm running the brt 50/50 with a sprinco red and the factory spring with a SiCo Omega. Ejection is 2-3 o'clock depending on ammo.
I've thought about a heavier buffer, and I have one, but it runs fine where it is. If I changed anything I'd probably do a fully suppressed tube from brt.

I began with an 18” 7.62 barrel, OEM gas tube, changed OEM spring to a Sprinco Orange before I even initially fired the rifle (this was my mistake) and kept the H3 buffer installed.
While shooting suppressed the recoil was insane. Unsuppressed it was ok, but I bought the suppressor specifically for this rifle. So I ordered the buffer/spring combo from Slash (XH buffers).
Made the problem worse. Went back to the sprinco orange spring and H3 buffer. Ended up selling the barrel because I thought the 308 barrel suppressed was just never going to be tame.
Purchased a 20” LMT 6.5 barrel and ran it initially with the Sprinco orange and H3 buffer again. Way over-gassed, double feeds and stove pipe ejections. Recoil impulse was really bad. This time I bought a BRT 50/50 tube and it tamed it down a very tiny bit. My buddy suggested putting the original LMT action spring back in the lower.
All my problems were solved, the sprinco orange was the culprit.
Now I’m running the OEM LMT buffer spring and H3 buffer with a 50/50 BRT tube (mine is .082”) and it runs like a sewing machine. 2:30-3:00 ejection while suppressed and 3:30-4:00 ejection unsuppressed.

My experience has been that the BRT gas tube combined with the factory LMT buffer spring and H2 or H3 buffer will deliver the best performance when it comes to recoil reduction. On my setup a 0.086" BRT tube on a 20" .308 factory barrel, LMT factory buffer spring and HUXWRX 7.62 FLOW TI, I'm able to run a 1oz. H1 buffer.
I had been using a XH Carbine Buffer and EA1095 but found that while the added mass of the buffer did tame the recoil, there was more movement in the rifle when the BCG slammed home. Just a lot of reciprocating mass...
Edited to add that both .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor the rounds eject at 4:00 using the same 0.086 BRT gas tube, LMT factory spring and 1oz buffer when unsuppressed and when suppressed with the HUXWRX 7.62 FLOW TI.

BRT tube it is then. I really want to mellow it out and get the recoil as linear as possible. Heavy buffer throwing it off is not my goal if I can avoid it.
Got a lantac dragon ASR brake in going to give a try also. Looks like an effective break and one of the few that has verticle control which I feel is somewhat helpful in such a short 308. Well see.

I liked the way the recoil impulse felt in my last rifle with a tubbs flat wire and an h2 buffer. The rifle was a PWS mk216.
I had ran a custom buffer in it that weighed around 11oz. before I went to the h2. The heavy buffer did a number on recoil but man that was a lot of weight on the return home. I think an h3 would have been about perfect but I sold that rifle to buy the LMT.
I went with the sprinco red because I'd heard a lot about them. I still want to try a tubbs in the LMT but I've yet to order one.
Thinking about buying a Hux can for my new LMT, or just putting a BRT tube in and running my Ecco modified 762-SDN-6.

I'm happy with both the HUXWRX Flow7.62 Ti and the BRT 0.086 gas tube.
With the BRT 0.086 gas tube, the factory LMT buffer spring and a 1 oz buffer, the rifle functions without issues when shooting both unsuppressed and suppressed with the FLOW 7.62 Ti.
I'm able to use this same combination when shooting both 20" .308 and a 24" 6.5 Creedmoor barrels.
The HUXWRX Flow 7.62 Ti does not change the ejection pattern when shooting either calibers. In my case the shells are ejected at 4 o'clock and tossed about 5-6 feet.
They all sold before I had a chance to even shoot one.
I will say there’s only like 90fps difference between my 14.5” mrgg-a and a factory 20”
Do some research on pewscience for suppressors. That’s the best place to get a feel for what’s currently out there. Do be aware that Jay’s test host for .308 is a bolt gun, so pay close attention to what he calls the Omega metric; that’s the back pressure value. It’ll be important for gas guns. Take a look at Specters CAT JL or the PTR Vent 1 for the latest in tech and highest performance.

The reports I’ve seen have had quite good accuracy.
To my surprise, when I weighed a piston barrel and bcg, they are actually lighter by a few oz over a standard weight barrel and bcg.
