Sitting in the deer blind, shooting a 257 AI, 110 accubond
Was thinking last night I'd pull a 3006 A bolt out of the safe that hasn't seen daylight in awhile. Run it over to the BLM, confirm zero and take a few whacks out to 600 or so with the old trusty hunting load of 50.2 gns of Varget under a 168 TTSX. Then I decided I better wait for Monday. Hate to screw up somebody's hunt though I doubt I would. Closing weekend of 2nd rifle.
Went to “my spot” in the desert to test 7 different 5.56 ammo offerings through 6 different AR pattern rifles. 5 round group of each ammo - through each rifle, at 100 yds. I don’t think “group” is the correct term. More like a loose gaggle.
Best group ammo/rifle/scope combo: .75 MOA.
Worst group ammo/rifle/scope combo: 5.1 MOA.

Rezeroing the MK12 with 55gr V-Max for some long range pdog and coyote action.
Colt Woodsman Sport Model (circa 1934). Shooting left over Halloween witches , and Rogue empty beer cans.
Hopefully I'll be shooting my crossbow from my treestand later.
All ready to go and run/shoot a Cowboy Action Match. Hopefully it’s not too muddy since we got 6/10” of rain last night.

I looked at my SW 340 PD that gets CC duty and hoped I don't have to shoot 357 magnums lol its a bruiser

A question for the Vintage Crew, how does one tighten the hinge on a Beech Front Sight? It keeps flopping down under Recoil.

We all know you have rubbed enough oil into your wood to double it’s original weight before you started and more than enough to be submersed for days in water with no effect on how the rifle shoots…..

Kid has all the tags this season and has a nasty head/chest cold. Breathing like crap at home, hiking at 9k feet and above prolly not the best plan.

1000 yard range day with the 6.5 Creedmoor.
South Georgia. Finished two days of quail hunting in too hot of weather.
Now in a stand and it’s too damn hot for deer hunting also but it’s the opportunity I have so that’s that.
Dropped a nice doe for meat this morning and I’m on my buddy’s property so it’s his rules on bucks….mature trophy or don’t shoot.
Even if I just sit here and look, it still beats the f*ck out of sitting in the living room watching the tube.

With @pmclaine and a few other great dudes this morning!
I sighted in the pre-64 Model 70 .220 Swift.... but it was raining, misty so I got it 'mostly' on paper but put it away.
But then out came the Tac Ops.... and finally I got to stretch it out. To about 550 yards (+- a bit).
I sighted it in finally early in October. And it was shooting holes in quarters... Now it's out to some range. Still with ammo designed for my SCAR... 174GR and LC Match cases. So not optimized for this rifle. Mainly doing break-in and more importantly fire-forming brass. Before I 'really' start dialing this in.
Started at 200 and in 6 shots worked my way out to 565 in medium full-value Right-to-left wind. Could not miss. Just hammering things. Also, unfortunately, our ground was a bit of forward slope (Secret Sevice need not apply) but a bit uncomfortable to shoot on and hard to get the weld.... But managed...
Fun thing was that the owner of our 'range'... a guy named Kurt... had never shot to that range before. He picked up the TacOps... and on the second shot he nailed the 565 yard torso dead center. He was pretty psyched! His longest shot ever.
This rifle is proving to be very, very cool. Still dialing it in. But it is incredible!

With me in Finland... Actually, the Norway > Finnish border. 2012. Basically unmanned. So this is how I drove through, waving to the cameras and saying to myself... "WTF, not even a border guard??"
Messing with my PVA barreled Solus. Just took the old mark IV 4.5-15 mix master off and put a Athlon Ares ETR 3-18 on it. I like that ETR, it’s not quite a Cronus, but it’s close. Having some fun a 500 and 600 yards. What I really need from Santa is some contraption that allows me to see my shots out there without having to drive to the target. There was too much mirage to see it the shots in my spotting scope.
Can’t complain at these groups at 100 yards. One was 45.9 grains of TAC, F210M, 155 Nosler CC loaded .060 off the lands. The other was a five shot group of 1992 MEN surplus 
. I’ve never had a group that good with surplus 308. Ever. It performed well at 500 and 600 on steel too. I wish I had more of it!

Mike and Terry had an amazing collaboration. It is an amazingly accurate rifle. I shot it up at Alderbrook in Littleton, NH. 1.5 MOA targets across the valley at 850 yards was not as difficult as I thought.
Only shoot it 1000+ most of the time. A lot cheaper and easier shooting the 6.5 Manbun. I do love the way the 300WM slings 215 bergers though. It's too easy to shoot shorter ranges with it and I want to save the barrel life for longer range shooting. It's hard on lighter targets, spun this one off at 800. I would love to go shoot with sirhrmechanic just to get a chance to plunder through all his cool shit and maybe fire a cannon.

Good for holding two torso plates.
I added the haversack for two cans of paint and my target lights.
It’s a good hauler but the shoulder straps are made for WWII sized guys. They are tight in the shoulders.

Shot an FAL for the first time today.
Very neat rifle built off an Australian parts kit.
Sometimes I feel I need to explain to peeps that end up shooting with us.
They see the consistent hits at ranges they think to be amazing so they think I might be amazing.
Not so.
Throw a shit ton of money into a custom build with premium barrel, $1+ bullets and miraculous Schott glass you have bought yourself some cheap shooter cred.
I’d be a dick trying to explain M80 and your FAL with Aussie mil barrel is not the same especially it is an awesome build for other reasons and should be loved.
I need to bring a “Humbler” rifle up there sometime to let peeps know it’s only partially me - you have to know the capabilities and expectations of your gear.

Well, your prep is part of your skill…. Meticulous record keeping before the first shot is even fired!!! Nice work on the paper…. Especially given the wind!!!!

Went to Dawsonville Saturday to work on finding a .22 round my new CZ 457 Varmint in a Boyd's stock likes. I went with an Arkin Optics SH-4.
Been a while since I shot a bolt gun at longer ranges. First .22 that I can run a suppressor on. I'm surprised that the point of impact raised suppressed vs non suppressed.
