    Competition seating die worth it?

Re: Competition seating die worth it? I have used the Forster match seating die to load .556 on the Dillon 1050. It requires a small notch cut into the sliding sleeve so the bullet will clear the die after seating as the loaded round rotates to the drop position. The only way to load .308 on...

    XCR info/reviews?

Re: XCR info/reviews? NF 1986 you are correct, the gas system on the SCAR is standard and suppressed, I was thinking about the Sig 556 when I posted that and I have now corrected it. On the range most malfunctions with the M-16 are operator induced. Or they just don't know how to run the...

    XCR info/reviews?

Re: XCR info/reviews? This is a description of the next generation weapons platform. Go to your local gun store and compare all three side by side. This is what I believe you will find. Of the three weapons platforms they are all modular meaning they are multi caliber and with the correct...

    XCR info/reviews?

Re: XCR info/reviews? Only two other guns compete with it, the FN SCAR and the Bushmaster ACR and after looking closely at all three the XCR is much superior. It has all the advantages the AK-47 has over our M-16 but has the accuracy of an AR and controls that are better than an AR. I love my...

    .260 into 6.5CM

Re: .260 into 6.5CM 22-250 does not work so well. It must not be as thick near the base as the 243 or 308 because the base expands too much. 308 is good but the neck has to be turned. 243 has worked the best so far.

Gunsmithing Armalite vs DPMS barrel threading

Re: Armalite vs DPMS barrel threading Yes they are different. The thread shank on the AR10 barrel is slightly larger than the one used on the DPMS but I don't know the exact size. If anyone knows I would be interested also. Thanks

Photos My Robinson XCR and Bushmaster ACR

Re: My Robinson XCR and Bushmaster ACR The XCR wins hands down for me. My local dealer is just under $1800 with Troy micro sights, rail covers and folding Magpul stock. The trigger is superior, the charging handle is much easier to grasp, and the rifle is absolutely cave man simple, ie; fewer...

    Robinson Arms XCR - 6.8 or 7.62?

Re: Robinson Arms XCR - 6.8 or 7.62? Robinson Arms is also working on a 6.5 Grendel, though it won't be called a Grendel. It's supposed to come out about the same time the XCR M 308 is coming out. This is a picture from the XCR forum of a 6.5 prototype they are testing right now. The 6.5 will...

Gunsmithing AICS mags arent running well........

Re: AICS mags arent running well........ If you remove the tab of metal in the front of your AICS magazine for longer bullets then you will likely need to modify the receiver also. This is the same mod on a Rem 700 with the AICS stock and was a simple fix with the dremel tool.

    Gunsmithing Rim rip AR-15

Re: Rim rip AR-15 Kit guns have reject barrels about 50% of the time. The money you save is not worth the aggravation they cause. You can usually tell by looking at the fired brass, they will have multiple rings in the brass from a rough cut chamber.

    STEEL TARGET PLANS?? ANYONE?

Re: STEEL TARGET PLANS?? ANYONE? This is not too difficult to build using 1/2" pipe and some pipe fittings. The 3/4" pipe the plate hangs from screws into one side and slips through the other side with an end cap screwed on so it won't come out. I added a 4” strip of conveyor belt material...
