Gunsmithing The new machine. . .

You mean to tell me instead of a 2 day turn around on bolts we are going to have to wait...(gasp).....10-14 days?..lol ;) I'm waiting on a final few items and then I'll be sending in a barreled action for a makeover. I was hoping to beat the M70 GB and it sounds like I might now!

    Russo Rifle Stock

Funny, I just came from his website when I saw your post. I'm planning on using one of his stocks for my next build and was doing a little drooling. FWIW, Joel is known for his great customer service. Maybe he is just on vacation? I'll send you a PM shortly with a phone number that might be...

    223 Re-loading

Re: 223 Re-loading Not a VMAX, but I use the 65 gr gameking. Very effective on jackrabbits. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to try it on larger game this winter. If you are wanting to hunt deer, I would suggest something with a little more penetration like the gamekings.

    I F###ING HATE RUGER!!!

Re: I F###ING HATE RUGER!!! So just out of curiosity, do the new MK III's not come with an owner's manual? My Mark II came with an owner's manual that listed the steps in detail how to disassemble and reassemble the pistol. I think it even has pictures with arrows showing you how to hold...

Rifle Scopes Anyone received a 2011 Sighton SIII?

I was wondering if anyone had received one of the new Sighton SIII scopes? I chatted with Scott about a month ago and I was under the impression a shipment of Mil/Mil versions would be arriving shortly. Did this happen or is everyone still waiting? I know the MOA versions aren't here yet, but...

Re: Sightron SIII SS 6-24X50 LRMOA The new 2011 LRMOA models have not been released yet. I believe they are expected to be available for purchase by the end of the month. I know I'm looking forward to it.

    Suppressors taurus pt 1911

Re: taurus pt 1911 I have actually had the exact opposite experience with my PT 1911. Around 500-600 rounds through it with zero problems. I've heard mixed reports about the Taurus, but have been pleasantly surprised with it's performance and have nothing but good things to say so far...

    Rifle Scopes MOA/MOA under $1k?

Re: MOA/MOA under $1k? The new Sightron SIII line of scopes will be out soon. All less than a grand and offer the MOA/MOA setup. http://www.sightron.com/index.php?action=view_document&did=1201816362&cat_id=6 In my experience and opinion, the SIII line is the best optic you can buy new for...

    New Baby, X-Ray 51

Re: New Baby, X-Ray 51 Man, that looks horrible. I insist you send that rifle to me immediately. I'd hate for you to suffer any longer with sub-par accuracy. Looks like you have a good shooting rifle! Gets me excited to get my build going. Come on Manners stock! BTW, roughly what...

Re: Interesting 308 range results cdennyb - that is interesting. It has the same pattern as my shots. I think you are right doc. I was not paying enough attention to my shooting position. Thank you for taking the time to write that up! I will follow those instructions next time I'm out...

Range Report Interesting 308 range results

Re: Interesting 308 range results Bryan, Good idea with the gun vise. That would be an easy test to perform. I'm not overly concerned about it, I just thought it was an interesting coincidence. I agree with you on Ruger rifles. In fact, if I could only own one gun for the rest of my...

Range Report Interesting 308 range results

Re: Interesting 308 range results LOL. I knew as soon as I said it was a Ruger the hate was going to flow.. Let's see. 100yd groups were from a bench, the others were from bipod and prone. The scope is a VX-II gold ring from the '70's that has parallax adjustment, which I was using. The...

Range Report Interesting 308 range results

I've been working up some 308 loads and have come across some interesting results. I was hoping to get some input on what might be causing the patterning in my groups. Here is what my results look like: The top three targets are 100 yds from a bench with bags front and rear. Bottom cardboard...

Rate of twist on sps tactical 223?

Re: Rate of twist on sps tactical 223? Have that exact same rifle. Multiple Black Hills (new and reloaded) and Hornady loads have all proved to be 1 MOA ammo's. Sometimes a little less, sometimes more. The rifle really didn't shine until I started reloading. That being said, my most...
