I'm looking to get a scope for a near future 22 trainer build I would like to get a nightforce 2.5-10x24 to keep the scope as low as possible… but seeing how the nightforce 24mm bell appears to be unavailable I was curious if there are any other 2.5-10x24 scopes offered by another manufacturer?
Or does anyone know if these will become available again by nightforce?

Thanks

In my experience, anything under 40mm will allow as low a mounting position as possible. What you'll find is that the magnification ring starts hitting the top of the receiver or the ring base. You'll also find that your bolt handle won't clear.

IOR makes a 1.5-8x26mm if that works for you.

Personally, I'd recommend the 32mm version of NF's 2.5-10x. Below is a picture of the one I had. The 32mm objective bell isn't even close to being a problem, and that is with TPS super-low rings and a 0 MOA Burris base (super thin!). You'll appreciate the larger exit pupil offered by the 32mm objective.

Here is a 2.5-10x42mm IOR in a pair of medium-height Burris dovetail rings. Dovetail ring setups are actually lower than any Picatinny setup I could find. Still not a problem for the objective bell.

Thanks for the post glock! When the time comes to buy if I hadn't found anything I had decided I will go with the 32mm. I was just throwing my question out to see if there might have been something I am missing.

I am wanting it to be a 30mm tube, the ior mentioned is 35mm.

The small objective is best for when you need to clear something else mounted on the rifle. For example:

Other then that, the x32 is probably the better choice.

these are available mostly in the classifieds. I looked for a few weeks and was either to late for the post or company didnt have any in stock anymore.

I just paid for 1 today in the classifieds and it was in GREAT condition and with Nightforce reputation I have no fear I got a great deal on an awesome scope

You'll enjoy the NF. BTW, a minor point, but a 0 MOA base would actually cause less of a problem with the bell because it has no taper. Look at a 20 MOA base and you will see it is higher in the back.
