All,

WHAT: 2nd Annual Las Vegas Invitational PRS match

WHERE: Desert Sportsman's Rifle and Pistol Club, Las Vegas NV

WHEN: November 2 & 3, 2013, we will be shooting our half day format again this year.

Entry fee will be $150 this year. That gets you breakfast on Saturday (bagels, donuts, coffee), Lunch on Sunday, cold drinks on the range to stay hydrated, and 1ea T-Shirt. Additional T-Shirts will be available for purchase when you register. We have a good idea for another useful memorabilia but I will not make that promise until I can check the cost feasibility. More to follow on that.

This will be a trophy match with cash prizes for the top 5 shooters. Any donated prizes for the prize table will be raffled off based on random drawing of shooter number.

We will be accepting 44 shooters and the rest will go on a stand by list.

Round count this year will be between 140-150 rounds. The COF will involve some strenuous movement, so ensure you are healthy enough to handle it.

Registration will open Monday, July 15th, at 5pm PST. Emails should be sent to [email protected] with your name, address, email address, and phone number. Notification emails will be sent out Thursday, July 18th with an official application. Payment and application must be received by Monday, August 5th or you will be bumped to the bottom of the standby list.

We look forward to a great match again this year.

Guys Christian Robinson with Guns & Gasoline will be covering the RO/rehearsal matches as well as the Precision Rifle Series match in November. The photos will not be released until after the Nov. match. Christian is a fellow firearm enthusiast and very talented photographer. We are very fortunate to have his help with coverage of the competition. I invite you guys to check out and "like" his page. The photos from the matches will be located there once everything is all said and done.

During the Nov. PRS match we will introduce him to the competitors and if anyone does not want to be photographed can let us know then.

If it revs or has a trigger.

Here are some examples of photos he has taken during the 05/13 LV monthly match.

Thanks to crew in Las Vegas for putting on a great match. I fired over 150 rounds in 2 days and we were done before 1pm both days. I felt like every shot had a purpose and it was never to pad round count.

Good shooting Scott it was good to shoot with all the guys in A&B squads. It was my wife's first match to watch and she was amazed at the camaraderie between all the competitors.

Thanks to the Nor-Cal crew for sponsoring a stage and hooking me up with some cash and a sweet shirt.

Lastly a huge thanks to Vinny Da Hook for building great trophies for the top 4 shooters. They are truly awesome trophies.

Thank you Dustin and congrats on some great shooting for top spot! Congrats to Jonathan B, Matt Lavine and Dorgan on their trophy finishes.

We all put forth a ton of time and effort to create and run a fun yet challenging match for everyone. Thank you to the competitors for making our jobs as easy as possible, I heard virtual no whining or complaining and every one was ready to go when it was their turn.

Even as a trophy/cash match we had a prize table filled with the generous prizes from some great sponsors:

-Silencer Co.
-New Frontier Armory
-NorCal PPRC
-Vortex
-JC Steel targets
-Invincible gun safes

-Bartlin Barrels
-Berger Bullets
-LV Steel Targets
-Victor Company
-Storm Tactical
-Surgeon Rifles

Christian from Guns & Gasoline was taking pictures both days and should have some great shots for us.

....More to come, works getting in the way.

I always have a good time at this match. Great r.o. crew and staff putting this event on. All really approachable and willing to answer any questions a shooter had. They made good use of ranges 3 & 9.

Some things that stand out in my mind:
Things ran smoothly and efficiently as the R.O.s were always moving the stages along. We were done by 12pm on both days. Everyone was divided into 4 squads and 2 of those shot at range 3 and the other 2 at range 9.
Wind on the long range COF was a little tricky to judge at first. Looked like barely any wind, but turns out we had to hold more than .5 mil.
One of the stages required you to use some "shooting sticks" which were fashioned out of wooden sticks and pcord. They were very unsteady.

It was a pleasure to RO range 9. I enjoyed every shooter and hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we did putting it on.

Ty

P.S. After looking at the pics above, I have decided sun screen should be used! My nugget looks like a cross between a pumpkin and a tomato.

Thanks to all of our great sponsors and thanks to everyone that came out for this match. I am sorry that I could not make it out Sunday. Being sick really sucked and I eventually had to take a trip to the ER on Monday.

I would like to thank each and everyone of my RO's and volunteers. Thank you Ty, Dane, Jorge, Simon and Aron for stepping up and making Sunday happen without me.

Even though the match is over my work on it is not done yet.

Roy, sorry to hear about your condition Sunday, all the guys stepped it up Sunday and ran a very smooth final day.
The match was a great one, congrats to the top 4, they shot a heck of a match.

Thanks to all the match sponsors, for the donations

Thanks to Roy and the crew of RO's who dedicated there week-end so we could shoot in the match. (the Sunday dinner was awesome)

A special thanks to Kurt Stone, he gave me an awesome deal on 3 of his LV steel targets, great solid steel targets, i'm glad i drove so i could cart them home.

I wanted to give you guys a heads up, Christian Robinson with Guns & Gasoline is almost done with the pictures. He got swamped with SEMA in town and is working to get them uploaded for you guys. The pictures will be loaded on his site If it revs or has a trigger. if you have a moment please check out the site and if you are active on facebook check out his page (Guns & Gasoline) and give him a "like".

Christian took pictures during the RO matches and one of our monthly matches, he does a great job and I think the pictures will be worth the wait!

Looked like a great match. For those of us who didn't attend can you tell us or more about or perhaps publish the COF?

I will look for the COF from the match and post it for ya.

This is one of my favorite pictures from the match. Christian is working on pictures from phase one of the RO match. They should be up soon!

From looking at all the pictures there are so many leftys. I really think I would have fit in at this match! I counted at least 5.
