26" barrel?I think that is the sweet spot.
I just looked up my earlier targets. At the 30 round point, that same load chrono-ed at 2942fps. Sped up to 3088 by 190 rounds, quite a change.
I would start at 36-37gr of rl 16 and work up
Vit N555 should be right there with RL16, but will need +1-2gr.I just ran some numbers in Quickload using a Cutting Edge 78 MTH with the driving band seated to right above the case neck, and RL16 looks like a winner for that combo. QL says 36gr is probably going to be way too hot though, I'll probably start around 33.5gr which it says should be around 51.5ksi because of the higher shot start pressure with the monos. 3300-3350fps looks attainable with pressures in the 55ksi range. Won't know for sure until the brass gets here and I can measure case capacity and also see how the barrel acts.
QL says RL26 should be the fastest power with the 77/78 monos, but QL currently doesn't have an option to "skip unobtainable powders" in their powder suggestion chart, LOL
Vit N555 should be right there with RL16, but will need +1-2gr.
These aren't necessarily top loads, just what I used on virgin Alpha brass on a new barrel. All below in first 100 rounds. It'll probably speed up 80-100.
The data below might help you to see how quick load is lining up.
New 24" 7T Rock barrel on Tika, virgin brass, & Fed 205 primer
90 SMK all loaded same length 2.522 / 1.993
6.5 Staball 38.0gr = 3047
RL16 36.1gr = 3022
H4350 36.1gr = 3052
Vit N555 37.7gr = 3097
My 22GT Alpha brass 1 x has 45.08 gr h2o filled to top.
Dry weight with spent primer = 145.38
Wet weight = 190.46
I still have some of those 78 MTH & might load a few for the GT.
Tried them in a Valkyrie & they shot like ass.
I have some 77 cayugas I’ll be trying out in my 22 dasher.Good info, thanks.
I still have some cutting edge 78 mth as well from testing in my 2x 223AIs and a friend's 22BR... They also shot like crap for me in all 3. The Lehigh 72 CCs on the other hand were extremely accurate in both my 223AIs and the 22BR, but as of now the Lehigh 72s are not available.
I hope the 77 cayugas or 78 mth shoot good in the 22GT.
I just picked up 2 boxes.Alpha Munitions 22 GT SRP Brass (Box of 100) | 1776 Ammo

I appreciate the heads up. I ordered a few boxes. Although, I have to say that I've had fantastic results with the hornady brass.Alpha Munitions 22 GT SRP Brass (Box of 100) | 1776 Ammo

34 will be mild indeed. I ran 35gr H4350 breakin load with 88eldm right around 2990-3000fps. Shot pretty well. Powder lot can swing that number +-30fps tho. 34gr with the short bearing but lighter weight will probably be in that same velocity area with a 26" barrel. My brass arrived today. While I wait for my barrel and action I am thinking about reloading 100x so I can immediately shoot once it arrives.

I am thinking 34.0 H4350 should be a nice mild load. Thoughts?
I love how Hornady data maxes out at 33.6grains.34 will be mild indeed. I ran 35gr H4350 breakin load with 88eldm right around 2990-3000fps. Shot pretty well. Yeah, that's probably where you'd max with 4166 or SW precision lolI love how Hornady data maxes out at 33.6grains.
Wonder if that has anything to do with assuring the bullet makes it all the way to the targetI love how Hornady data maxes out at 33.6grains.
I've ran 90 atips at 3270 from a 7tw 219 bore, and alls well at 400y on paper. That was early in barrel life. Over 600 now and never lost a bullet at 3100-3120, 90s or 88s.Wonder if that has anything to do with assuring the bullet makes it all the way to the target![]()

Sierra says 7tw needed at 223 velocity, I'm sure at 22gt velocity a 7.5 would suffice. They're factory pointed 90s. Can't expect them to be anything but the 9290s. @padom has been using them in a 22br from a 7tw and they've shot very well for him, more consistent than 88 eldm. Are they in fact 9290's if anyone knows?
I have 7.2 twist, fast enough to spin these up properly?

What speed are you getting with the 90 SMKs? Any blowing apart on you?100yd lol I’m not cool enough to shoot at 200yds
I have a PVA 7 twist coming and I’m a little afraid it may be troublesome. I’m hoping I can send them fast enough without them blowing apart and I don’t want to run solids. I wish PVA had more Osprey twist rates available.
How fast were you sending the 88s? Had? Did you shoot out the barrel, if so how many rounds did you get out of it?I had zero issues with my pva obw 22GT 1-7 and blowing up bullets. Shot 88 ELD's lights out...
I have 88s and 85.5s. I may pick up some 90s as well. I was hoping to find 95s, but I think I have more bullets than barrel life at this point. You’re not going to have an issue. Another member here shoots the 90’s in a 6.5tw barrel at the same speed with no issues, my buddy has run 90gr atips with no issues in his 7tw as well.

I do not have the latest update, but I use the 6x47 lapua profile and just adjust everything to match the GT specs. Case length, H2O and AOL, then just adjust the burn rate to match velocity. Works for me just fine.Any one here have QL or know if 22GT is featured in it?
