I am surprisingly ok with this as I’m not sure my $400 Ruger American shoots these better than the 120smk’s. But I’m sure I’ll have to try and find out somewhere down the road just because that’s what we seem to do. Till then, no freeloaders. You won't buy any today.
They're out of stock.
Have you tried shootersworld website load data? Maybe worth looking.Anybody have experience with shooters world match rifle powder and 123 eldms? I’ve got a couple pounds sitting around, can’t find much info on it

Try looking up shootersworldpowder.com/reloading data. Page 32Anybody have experience with shooters world match rifle powder and 123 eldms? I’ve got a couple pounds sitting around, can’t find much info on it
100% agree on working from an 8lb jug vs multiple 1 pounders. That's how I am with my 6.5 cm and 308 ammo, I buy shit loads of loaded ammo to avoid having lots of different lot numbers lol...When you find a powder that works well for you get an 8 lb jug and save or get the matching 1 lb jug.
Work from the 1 lb jug as relableing something else is fround upon.
Tac is a popular choice and also works for heavy 223 projectiles. I had a 1/2 moa group with 69g 223's and need to finish up testing on that.
Has anyone used TAC, A2520, BLC2, shooters world match rifle, or big game?
I've never reloaded but may get into it soon. I've scrolled through this thread over the years but realized there's a ton of different powders used for the grendel. It's not like the CM where there's really only just a few that people stick to.
I'm trying to see what powders are more temp stable but also available. Some of these have the hardest time hitting the shelves and have not been consistently in stock for years or have taken a massive price increase.

I've just never loaded before and going through this thread I see so many different powder options. I'm gonna see if I find some TAC, it can pull double duty since I also have a 223.
**edit**
Is there a temp sensitivity chart? I know there is one for burn rates. I'm in south texas and I want to hunt with the grendel eventually. Temps range from 110 to 20s or 30s in the winter.
It's all mixed together in this one tacked thread. Is there a separate post for semi autos and bolt guns here for the 6.5 Grendel load data or is it all mixed in this thread?
If I never had tried LeverRevolution, AA2520 would be my go to powder for 120+ grain bullets. I still use it as it's very good on both velocity and accuracy in both of my Grendel's. I push them pretty hard and 2520 is very close to LeverRevolution. 2520 is usually considered a temperature sensitive powder but I haven't ran into any wild velocity fluctuations. In the summer I usually shoot later in the day under a covered position and don't shoot too many to fast....Has anyone used TAC, A2520, BLC2, shooters world match rifle, or big game?

As mentioned above, TAC. I cannot get enough Varget in a Grendel case and N540 wouldn't be much different I suspect. The only extruded powder I use for the Grendel is XBR8208 as it is small and I can pack enough in the case. The spherical powders will pack tighter in that relatively small case (but you already know this). So just got a 20" Odin works barrel with bolt and Odin works ask gas block.
I have Hornady brass, 115gr Barnes black tips, 123gr eld m CCI 450 primers.
I have Varget, Tac and N540 to work with for powders.
Any suggestions.

As an addition to your post: Alliant AR-Comp is an extruded powder and works well on the Grendel, when you can find it.As mentioned above, TAC. Good question about temperature sensitivity. I know enough to know I don't know enough. That said, I never load jagged edge and don't run into problems. However, I typically shoot calibers that appreciate some pressure for best accuracy. Loading with hunting in mind, extreme heat of summer won't be too mich of an issue IMO. a lot of knowledgeable shooters will develop their load with environment in mind. With me living in the South, it never gets so cold I have to worry about large velocity differences. Is there a powder you know of which is very insensitive to temp changes?
I'm only iffy because I've never reloaded. Im going to be a first time loader and want to start with whatever is less risky in drastic changes. It can be in the 90s here in South texas during the winter and a cold front can come in and the next day will be in the high 20s.
I want to load 6.5grendel for hunting so both ends of the temperature extremes are highly possible.
I have used CFE223 in 223, 308 and 6.5 grendel.GRoups ranged from 13/16 (consistant with the varget load) up to 8 inches with the CFE powder in the compressed load.
6.5 Grendel Load work up
I have best accuracy in my 20”&16” ballistic advantage barrels with 27-28 grains of ARComp and Hornady 123 eldm and sst bullets seated to fit mags. 3/4”-1” at 200 yards. 28-30 grains of imr 8208 and 110 grain copper chaos again 3/4”-1” at 200. I hope this helps. Thanks for your reply.
I think I am going to try and fine tune this

I'll be adjusting lengths and maybe try my small rifle winchester primers. Adjust the load up and down a little and using the Lapua 108 grain Scenar bullets.
223 loads I have nailed with the 77 gr Sierra Match kings, LC Brass, standard small winchester primers and 24.5 grains of Varget. That is a tack driver load in all of my 223 rifles with both 1 in 7 Krieger barrel and 1 in 8 supposed to be barrel made by Wilson Gage which I bought from DPMS back in the day.
As for 308, 45.0 Grains of Varget, 175 Grain Sierra Match King, Std Large Winchester Primers, LC Brass. Good for 1000 yards.
I liked Varget so much that I was using it in 243 also for prairie dogs.
My impression from my first loading of ginex primers in my .223 is that they are much harder than CCI400, maybe not as hard as CCI450. I will use them in my 6.5 Grendel when I make my next batch. Don’t try to push to creedmoor velocities and it you should be GTG.Anyone have experience using Ginex or Fiocchi primers in the Grendel. Known primer cup thickness of these primers?
let me know when you have tested in the Grendel. Also, are you able to measure the cup thickness of the fired primers from your 223?My impression from my first loading of ginex primers in my .223 is that they are much harder than CCI400, maybe not as hard as CCI450. I will use them in my 6.5 Grendel when I make my next batch. Don’t try to push to creedmoor velocities and it you should be GTG.
I'm having the same problem with it.Anyone have any idea what happened to the 6.5 Grendel forum? Last week or so it has changed drastically for me. Nothing like it used to be, can't read or post. Is it my computer or something else?
