I've a Thompson Center Venture in 204, with the rail in the receiver where the scope mounts.
I'm buying the DNT optics The One scope. I've contacted two scope ring manufactures that I have faith in as to what height I need to keep the scope as close to the barrel as possible.
Here's what I was told: Warne Tech said a .275 should work, Seekins said a 0.92, any suggestions? Both are returnable if they don't work, the formula on this site is not adding up to me.

Are you sure it’s “.275” and not 1.275?

.275” would be less than 1/3 the height of the lowest rings ive ever seen.

Don’t worry about getting it as close as possible to the barrel.

Warne is likely measuring the gap between the top of the rail and the bottom of the scope tube vs top of the rail to the centerline halfway up the scope tube. That’s more common in dovetails, direct and weaver rings vs picatinny.

Half of 34mm is 17, which equals ~.7” so .275 of gap+ 7=.975”
