Could someone share a rundown on the differences between the pre and post 2014 AICS AX chassis? I’m about to purchase one for my Zeus and want to make sure I’m getting the 2 screw forend version (post 2014?).

Take out the bolt and clean it off with dirt, cut your finger and apply blood liberally. Orphan blood works better but they are harder to find at the range.

AICS AX Chassis
PRE 2014:
8 or 10 small screws hold the fore end rail to the receiver part of the chassis.
Rounder, plastic skinned rear stock section, same as the current AT rifle.
POST 2014:
Newer, throw lever style rear end, same as the AX / AXMC.
2 bolts holding the fore end rail to the rear half of the chassis
Can use the Victor Company Hammer fore end rail with inbuilt Arca.

From what I remember and I do have one on a AW…is just caliber was engraved twice 180 degrees apart. I could be wrong if it changed at all but that’s what I say.

Yes sir. MSR2 reticle. I have been shooting it a few times now and it’s been tracking well. Shot with NV last night as well and it did good.

Hey guys, does anyone know what the heaviest contour barrel you can get away with on an AXSR? Will it accommodate 1.350” straight or are you going to have to taper it at some point to 1.200” or so?

The 1.35" slides down the tube for installation. So I don't see why it wouldn't work. There isn't a whole lot of clearance around the shoulder though.
You can run 1.35 straight in the older MC handguard. The AXSR and MCLE have the new handguard which has small ridges inside and can’t run a 1.35 straight. I forget the exact number but I turned mine down a bit, I think it was like 1.28 or something
Inside the axsr. Those must be the ribs you are talking about. I just pulled the 6.5cm barrel so had the chassis handy. I had no idea they would limit the oal length since the shoulder has to slide down the handguard. Chalking it up to leaning something new.
Yep, those are the ridges. When I sold my MC and got the LE, I dropped the barrel in and thought it was good. Couldn’t hit a full ipsc at 1 k for anything. Went back to 100 and shot a group and it was trash. The barrel when fired, just touched enough to fuckup accuracy. Turned the barrel down a bit and it went back to amazing precision

Have it at 1.350” at the shank for about 5” then start tapering it to 1.250” at the muzzle.
Barrel will still weigh over 10lbs

First day out for the new year. My AXSA Elite Sand with the 308 barrel. Some hard drive disposal @ 200 yards...

Anyone know where I can get longer screws for the butt-spacers? It came with extra spacers but not with screws long enough to make use of them. I got long-ass arms and need one or two more spacers.
I gotta get better at talking pictures, my photo skills are not cutting it for this thread
