Accuracy International Picture Thread

This is the only one I've seen so far and it looks like you will have to raise you scope??

Untitled-1%20copy-M.jpg

You should be ok with a one piece mount. The nightforce is mounted really low in those rings.

It appears to be one of the original picatinny rails that are the same used on the AX308.

Skrimped and saved my nickels and dimes and just got my shiny new NF 7-35. Had some outside time setting the eye relief and diopter. Rather fickle trying to get a sharp, focused reticle. I'll have to play some more.View attachment 6965597

That's a great looking rig right there.

I had the opposite experience with my NF 7-35. But I suppose everyone's prescription is a little different.

I suspect it has a great deal to do with my astigmatic vision. I actually "see" a slightly thinner vertical stadia line vs. horizontal. It's a function of the imperfect cornea. I have prescription lenses coming this week so I'll spend some time behind the scope.

Hi y’all, should finally be able to get out and shoot my AT this Sunday. Will be shooting 175 FGMM and 175 SMK factory IMI and will most likely shoot 175 FGMM until I can build a bench for my reloading press.

What velocities are y’all seeing with your factory AIAT 20” .308 barrel with the above factory loads? I’m estimating 2580fps with 175 FGMM?

I am not sure if I’ll have access to a chronographer on Sunday, besides that barrel should speed up in about 200 rounds anyways.

Reason for my asking is I’d like to get a rough data card made before Sunday.

I get 2630 fps with 175 FGMM out of my 23" 1:10 twist AX308 barrel, suppressed, at about 50-60F for ambient temperature.

I think you'll be close with your prediction of 2580 fps. If I was you, I'd look at the data for 2550, 2575, 2600, 2625 fps, and look at what the changes are at the ranges you'll be shooting at. That's what I like to do - if I know my velocity is 2600 fps I'll make a +/- 25 fps card, along with a 2600 fps +/- 2000' DA card. Then I'll be covered enough if I think I'm gaining/losing speed, or if the DA is 1000' in the morning and 3000' in the afternoon.

That being said, I generally rely on a non-AB Kestrel and Trasol on my phone, but should my phone go down at a match I like to have data cards as backup.

Factory AIAT 20" 1:12" twist, 175 RDF, 44.6 Varget, Lapua, CCI BR-2 was 2620 fps.
AINA (Bartlein/Tooley) 20" 1:10" twist, 175 RDF, 44.6 Varget, Lapua, CCI BR-2 was 2675 fps.

I'd say you're correct in the 2550-2600 fps range with 175 FGMM.

I get 2610fps with 175gr Nosler RDFs and 44.4gr Varget out of my 19.25" factory barrel at 85 degrees.

Factory 20" AIAX i get 2549fps with a 12SD with 175 fgmm and 2515 with 175 blackhills.

Precision Rifles for the 21st Century

As of 1999, Accuracy International Ltd is 21 years old. From the beginning the company continuously concentrated on tactical rifles which were primarily intended for use by governments for defense, peacekeeping and internal security throughout the world. This work, coupled with constant research and development, customer feedback and production improvements has enabled Accuracy International to amass considerable experience in precision rifle production. We strive to apply this experience to our customers' advantage.
Our current products reflect our wealth of experience and our constant research and development. We listen to and incorporate suggestions from customers, and we take advantage of the most-up-to-date technology. In addition to the many countries who already fielded our 7.62 NATO rifles, key NATO countries began deploying both .300 Win Mag and .338 Lapua Mag 'AWM' rifles in 1997. Also in 1997, Accuracy International opened its new plant 'Accuracy International North America Inc' (AINA) at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA, the home of much US military research and development.
In 1998, the AW50 rifle in .50 BMG caliber and AW in 5.56 NATO (.223 Rem) entered production, earning Accuracy International the distinction of offering the most comprehensive range of tactical rifles in the world.
Our current research and development projects for the future include new technology, high performance ammunition, a new rifle for police use, refinement of current products plus improved manufacturing techniques in a brand new factory.

So first 51 shots with my AT today. Had a really good time. Shots below are a few groups on paper. Sighted in with IMI 175 SMK and finished the day with FGMM 175 SMK. After 100 on paper, I moved to 375 yard steel. Using the predicted velocity of 2575 I made a 1.9 mil elevation change and couldn’t miss the targets (full IPSC, 10” circle, ~4-6” flapper target).

Went to go shoot the 600 yard IPSC and couldn’t hit it. The wind picked up and I was lost, and was too lazy to go back down the tower to get my Weatherflow. My primary goal next time is to nail the 600 target as I have never hit anything beyond 375 yards.

Had a great time today. Today reinforced that I NEED to get into a training class in 2019 if finances and time allow! I need someone better than I am telling me how to fix my inconsistencies and critique my fundamentals.

I did notice I had a smoother recoil pulse when I placed my thumb inside of the thumbhole as opposed to using samb300’s thumbrest. For me personally, I felt like I had to grip the rifle harder while using the thumbrest whereas the thumbhole grip seemed more relaxed. However, many more rounds must be fired to obtain any sort of efficiently.

Obviously I am not up to the standard as many display here (I figure I’m about right at an MOA shooter), but I will enjoy learning and improving with every range session.

This was from the other day, right after break in, not a bad start.
