@diggler1833 I played with an mrad before they got popular and enjoyed it. Still chose an AI when I had to put my money on something but I didn't hate it. Plastic sleeve seemed odd to me too, was smooth but I could tell it was sliding in a plastic tube. At this rate though I should have bought an mrad over my trg.
Sold my AXSA, bought a TRG, sold my TRG, bought an MRAD, gonna sell the MRAD (perfectly capable system mind you), gonna buy an AI again.

I at least learned from the first time I sold an AI for another gun.... this time I kept my AT. Only time it will go is after I'm dead.

Trg A1 is so far a let down though. Hard as hell to get better than 1moa. Found all my action screws finger tight this week and went to go torque them to their ridiculous 133inlb limit and stretched/cracked one screw at only 80inlb. Thankful I was able to get it out buy wtf? $5k rifle that a fucking savage would put to shame.

I was asked what data card I was using in one of my pictures; it's homegrown. I usually staple up three LaRue 4 position targets for my zeroing and load testing, and use the data card to capture the conditions, velocities and position of each shot, which I then transpose to a spreadsheet and my range data book. Overkill, but it works for me.

The sheet attempts to capture the data I value by identifying the target (top, middle or bottom) then the individual target from the 4-position grid (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right), as well as the barrel round count, speeds and then plots. I'll add a handwritten note if I'm shooting suppressed, or if I change loads. I have it in Word so it can be modified and in a PDF. If anyone wants the files, shoot me a note and we'll figure it out.

I've always loved the MRAD, I remember when I was a kid seeing it for the first time on Guns & Ammo magazine I thought it was the coolest thing ever, but I've messed with a few and found the length of pull too long and the stock generally less comfortable than an AI. Maybe one day, but definitely a lower priority.

There is always Desert Tech after you sell this AI
Gross.
I did briefly consider an MRAD, until I saw that (at the time) the only way you could get a spare barrel was to buy an entire "conversion kit" from Barrett for like $2500
Steel is less and they sell the extensions now. I have a custom 6.5CM barrel, actually.

The LOP is definitely an issue.

I'm not arguing that things can't progress.... You will get a 16+rd aics pattern mags when md start doing 15+ round stages on the reg .... I'm not scorning the mfg they are filling an obvious demand.

Pretty sure I made 0 assumptions or comments as to your abilities home skillet nor did I make any comparisons to my own

I am merely providing free commentary on a sat night to something I find comical about the competitive shooting world. It's not the first time and won't be the last

I’ll say it…it’s a crutch for people who have zero weapon handling skills. …but it is an equipment adaptation to MDs trying to get people to do reloads as part of the stage design.

Reload or die a loser.

Damn yo! Bunny's a killa!

I was under the impression you got your first AI last year and usually shoot less than 50% of the match points. But you go girl.
Oh I never claimed to be a good competitor (#MidPackTac and #SometimesMaybeGoodSometimesMaybeShit are applicable hashtags) but I do believe that competing is important. However I do claim to have jokes, unlike those who take hobbies or internet posts too seriously. I think I’ve had it maybe a year and a half now.

Out of curiosity, how long do I have to own a tool before I’m allowed to talk about manipulation ability? How how up the rankings do I need to be before I can start to say that extended magazines are gay but understand why they’ve become a thing?

I shall and will. I am excited for the day that I live up to your expectations though dad. 🥰

As a guy who has all those credentials after competing 8+ years....extendo mags are still...super gay. I understand them.... but like anything after the h1 hummer you are just compensating.

I have a question, though. First, how dare you. 😘

But on a serious note, why not have both the competency to conduct a mag change and an extended mag?

Any long term thoughts if anyone has gone AXMC vs AXSR and why they chose that? I have an ATX and an MRAD, but really considering grabbing a long action AI.
I have both (2 MCs, 1 SR). I changed the MC bolts to the SFP versions. I slightly prefer the MC over the SR, but honestly they’re so close that I wouldn’t care either way. They each have some pluses/minuses, but they’re pretty minor.

MC probably has a more reliable trigger, and I like the 3-position safety better. Large firing pin is more robust, and not an issue IF you stick to the 3 cartridges it was originally designed for. If you don’t NEED an ARCA rail in front of the mag well, the grip is more comfortable to carry. 30 MOA rail vs 20 on the SR is sort of a personal preference thing.

SR has ARCA rails everywhere. Ambi safety (meh for me), QR levers for stock adjustments are cool, but thumbscrews on MC are fine. No LFP bolt issues since they’re all SFP. Trigger is more adjustable to lighter weight, but MC is still good for me and rock solid reliability.
Same mags, same barrels.
You really can’t go wrong with either one.

You need a long action with all of the bolts. It is amazing to have a rifle that can do 6mm to 338 LM.

The MC is great. Not to open a can of worms, but the MC is bonded, and the SR is not. There aren't many more differences than that, provided you are right-handed. RH people will get the SFP assembly. Southpaws are SOL and only get LFP. Yes, you can bush your FP and bolt. I have strong opinions about why that is dumb as a southpaw. The bottom line is that If you're a southpaw, then buy the AXSR and buy everything you can in terms of bolts and firing pin/shroud assemblies before they are no longer available.

You'll never shoot the MRAD again, so you might as well sell it to fund the LA AI
