Accuracy International Picture Thread

Precision gas gun season is over. Time to work up a load for the new AI and shoot some team sniper matches.

Well as long as I've got cell service and time on the mountain, I'll be snapping pics of the AI in all it's glory. One of these days I'll connect on a bull!

My buddy grabbed this one for me, favorite picture of the trip so far. Checking out a cow and calf hauling ass across the slope in front of us.

Our only real shot opportunity was straight down into a draw and a meadow to the left. We'll be spending time tomorrow on that face the cows were on.

Latest rig. Eurooptic got the rail in stock after a 1mo back order and I emailed AI who confirmed they're still in regular production which is a win.

Had Allegheny Arms profile the barrel for the AEM5-30.

Probably going to need to talk to Milehigh about the bolt release. Was at a PRS event and ended up ripping the bolt out 5 times during 4 different stages and noticed that during running the bolt my bolt catch isn't as tight as my AI AT latch and wiggles. I can't find the springs or a diagram for user servicing so looks like some BS I'll have to send it off for if it happens again after a deep clean and scrub of the entire latch assembly.

if i remember correctly, isnt it just a single roll pin on the release pivot? i think i would call Mile High about getting a new bolt release assembly with new pin, arm, and spring to install myself than to mail off to someone for literally 3 minutes with a punch.

Been out of the loop for a bit, is Bugholes still doing .223 conversions? If not, who is the go-to?

About 2 months ago in another thread Greg said he had a couple left and after they are gone he's probably done with the 223 conversions, he said they take too much fiddling to get to run.

The new AT-XC in Sage Green Top and AT-X Elite Sand lower. Pretty close
I'm pretty confused with the colors they're using for their stock photos with this color. I thought the reason elite sand was discontinued was because the color matching was inconsistent. But here we have 3 different sage greens from Mile High's website?

Just the ramblings of someone that is probably going to buy a green ATX chassis regardless.

Is the forend longer on the AT-XC? I thought the AT-X could take an 18" barrel.

Yes, I believe it's longer than the AT-X. According to the literature/specs on the AT-XC the forend clearances 20" and longer barrels. I pulled a tape on the forend and it looks like it's right at 18" long so it's possible an 18.5" barrel would clear with a can on the end.

Sage green can really look different depending on lighting. Here is the same exact gun in different lighting.

@FUNCTIONAL thanks for the pics! That isn't all that much different than the color of my elite sand rifle. Maybe I was expecting it to be more like the old AI or Sako green.
It’s nowhere near Sako green or TacOps ODG. I think it’s pretty true to the name similar to older USAF issue sage green.

Hey guys, for you AXSR owners, any of you run the MLOK forend? Any issues with interference with the factory AXSR barrel?

If you have M-Lok accessories, they will need to be pulled before swapping barrels.

Fastest path is to pull the forend when swapping barrels instead do each M-lok accessory.

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. Do the inside screws of the MLOK assessories or rails touch the barrel? Is there enough clearance when the barrel is already in?

@DLOW666 is there a specific reason you're wanting the mlok rail if you have the fitment concerns? You get like 4 or 5 pic rail sections with the AXSR in the box if you need to attach stuff.
I was just weighing the mlok option vs the factory Key slot as I already have a bunch of mlok accessories . I don’t have any issue with the Key slot but I also like the mlok options. I don’t have the rifle yet, and I wasn’t aware it came with key slot rails. it should be delivered within a couple of weeks. I was told the mlok accessories may interfere with the barrel and I appreciate the feedback. Nice to hear from people that have first hand knowledge.

As said, they don't really interfere with the barrel itself, only the removal/installation process. The diameter of the chambered area is too large to slide in or out past the m-lok inside attachments. Once the barrel is installed, there shouldn't be any interference, so other than when changing barrels you should be fine. Your options when changing the barrel are to either remove the m-lok attachments first, or the forend (but then it may not slip over certain muzzle brakes, so...still a pain.

I agree that with the key-slot pic rail sections provided with the gun, it's a much better solution to just go that route.
