Accuracy International Picture Thread

@Dr. Strangeglove talking about 30-06 but caught him slumming it with 6.5 today.

Can’t talk to much crap, as I’m probably posting a pic of an AI with the cheapest scope in this entire thread.

Anyone have a lead on cheek piece thumb screws? Seems everywhere is out of stock or marked discontinued.
Pretty sure they’re discontinued. I used this from McMaster Carr. They look “okay” and sit pretty flush against the skins.

Shit I wish. It’s an older Primary Arms 4-14x44 with R-Grid Reticle
Oh yeah! Shit!! I still own that cheap thing too! Only with just a mil dot! (Aka ARC-2 MOA Reticle)

I first wrote “4-14”, looked at it, and said wtf and changed it to 4-16. Mostly had forgotten that scope!

It was my first scope I ever bought. Put it on my only rifle, a CZ 527 in 204. Then found the Hide and went to mils and onto other hedonistic rifle debauchery soon afterwards.

Forgive me MIL Lord, for I have sinned!

It is until I rattle can it

I think ES is a great color, but sand is the wrong name for it
It’s more “elite concrete”

But the concrete that’s in that shaded portion which rarely dries out throughout the day and develops that greenish tint to it over time that you eventually power wash

I'm guessing the rifle is a tad heavy as pictured? What are the barrel specs?
Yeah it's definitely on the heavier side but absolutely manageable. 20" 308, irrc it's a Bartlein.

I carried it another 6-7 miles today up and down draws and ridges without getting worn out.

It's going back out tomorrow for the same deal.

Don't worry. That weight will pay off when you shoot that whitetail doe in the guts at 70yds. 🤣

A decent 2 point sling definitely helps manage the weight.

Well as long as I've got cell service and time on the mountain, I'll be snapping pics of the AI in all it's glory. One of these days I'll connect on a bull!

My buddy grabbed this one for me, favorite picture of the trip so far. Checking out a cow and calf hauling ass across the slope in front of us.

Our only real shot opportunity was straight down into a draw and a meadow to the left. We'll be spending time tomorrow on that face the cows were on.

Latest rig. Eurooptic got the rail in stock after a 1mo back order and I emailed AI who confirmed they're still in regular production which is a win.

Had Allegheny Arms profile the barrel for the AEM5-30.

Probably going to need to talk to Milehigh about the bolt release. Was at a PRS event and ended up ripping the bolt out 5 times during 4 different stages and noticed that during running the bolt my bolt catch isn't as tight as my AI AT latch and wiggles. I can't find the springs or a diagram for user servicing so looks like some BS I'll have to send it off for if it happens again after a deep clean and scrub of the entire latch assembly.

if i remember correctly, isnt it just a single roll pin on the release pivot? i think i would call Mile High about getting a new bolt release assembly with new pin, arm, and spring to install myself than to mail off to someone for literally 3 minutes with a punch.

Heads up for the AXSR/AXMC folks, I have a bunch of my barrels up on the PX. Check my post history, I don't think I'm allowed to post direct links outside of PX per forum rules. They're priced to move. If someone from this thread wants the package deal hit me up in DM and I'll handle shipping as well. EDIT: all items spoken for.

I'm primarily running my steel barrels and also getting into a steel barrel for 300PRC when I get to go long-long out west next year, so getting out of the carbon wrapped game entirely.

Been out of the loop for a bit, is Bugholes still doing .223 conversions? If not, who is the go-to?

About 2 months ago in another thread Greg said he had a couple left and after they are gone he's probably done with the 223 conversions, he said they take too much fiddling to get to run.
