Does anybody know the size of the ejector roll pin. I may or may not have damaged it by putting it back in. Thats what she said. Still functional, but I would like to have spares since I remove them for each new barrel to size brass.
Edit for tax.

Is it a sin to put an FDE barrel in an ES chassis, because it will be painted shortly.

Hella good deal

Was going to buy but don’t need 3 short actions.

On that note looking for a axsr with 300nm bolt. Can be beat up can be barrel less

@BurtG

If your asking because the one for sale in the px is interesting you just keep one thing in mind

The AX338 does not have the quickloc. So it’s not the quick barrel change with the Allen wrench.

We’ve all seen the hammer/wrench video but just so your aware

No one wants to sell axmc for 5
:(
For $5k?

Yeah you won’t touch one of those for less than $7-$8k

In that case that AX338 is a decent deal. Just factor in the tools to change the barrel. Also check to see if they’re compatible with AXMC bolts.

Just in case you ever want a different caliber bolt or have an issue and want a spare bolt on hand. Same goes for the mags. Maybe they’re interchangeable I’m not sure

If I went back to a long action AI I’d sell a rifle just to cover the extra $3k it takes to get a decent AXMC setup.

8 is rediculous when a new axsr js 8900
Yeah but you’re comparing the discontinued elite sand models. Which is a great price if you pick one of those up right now. But normal pricing is over $11K

Many times the AXMC can be bought for around $8-$9k with 2-3 bolts, multiple barrels and mags.

My Tikka doesn't seem to like them, or if it does it's more sensitive to seating depth than I can be bothered dealing with.

73gr ELDs shoot mint though.
I threw together my first had loads back when I had the Poors1.0 (R700), and finally took them out.

This CTR doesn’t seem picky, at all. Idk much about seating depth, I just made sure they fed and chambered with a dummy round and did a ladder test

Gonna crank out some more in the 24-25grain range for my next outing to see how it does.

Speaking of ridiculous, a new TRG m10 is $11k+ after tax. And one can’t even get Arca all the way up to the magwell.

Agree.

I'm pretty sure each company (AI/Barrett/Sako/Steyr) is watching the other right now and seeing what they can get away with regarding pricing to the .mil and the civilian sectors.

Doesn't help that people are paying stupid money for clone rifles and military equivalent issued rifles. If it has "genuine" military parts...well then be prepared to double whatever the already outrageous cost already was. Not that it isn't a great hobby, but it is turning into the Barrett Jackson insane auction prices of firearms pretty quickly.

Dude, I bought an M24R (return stock, bottom metal, sights and scope base - with a new M24 barreled action from Rem. Defense) back in 2015 for a total of $2,100, then got the correct Leupold Mk4 10x (replaced the M3 Ultra) for another $1K.

It was going to be my knock-around critter killer here on the ranch...right up until I saw what they were fetching in 2019.

Just like I always wanted an M40A1, but can't justify the cost vs. performance. I say that after having purchased an original No. 4 Mk 1 (T) a few years back...so I'm probably just as guilty as some others.
