Why not just purchase two new mid-priced Vortex scopes. When the Scar or your clumsy meat hooks fuck it up, send it back under the VIP warranty. As they fix or replace it use the second one until you or the ole lady fuck that one up. Rinse, Repeat
Grasping for the best optic of the moment to hang on a Scar is a waste of time.
P.S. I really enjoyed your post #140, so rare these days to see a man and wife bond over the shooting sports. Brought a tear to my eye as I envisioned the self proclaimed retard and sammich maker dumping mag after mag on the Scar, operator hard. But still finding time for a loving gaze or a sensual touch as you cool the barrel.

I highly recommend bringing your sammich maker to shoot, brings you closer but being thuis is you in your latest video...I doubt you're into that stuff..you don't fool anyone.
I looked at that one a couple years ago but for the price you get a little more with the others. There's also very little info on the scope.

With your current run of breaking optics, have you looked into the mounts and or rings being used. The ADM Delta Mount was designed specifically to run high power optics on sacrs. If you would have used the search bar at the top of the page you would have come across this thread by deersniper back in feb.

I also read on the FN forums that those type of mounts might be the issue. I did use an ADM mount since it's what I use on my m4s. If it was an issue with the mount, the Razor and the other cheap optics would have been destroyed as well. It's been well documented that the Scar will do it, no one knows what exactly the cause is or which mounts but it'll do it. It was the first mount I bought when I bought the Scar, great mount. I'm not saying it's the mount, just that I used ADM.

I have had a NF NXS 2.5-10x42 on my SCAR-17 for years with no issues. Shooting it at 1K is about as much luck as skill. 1 mile is a waste of ammo. When I rebarrel to 6.5CM its either getting an SB US, a March 3-24 or an Eotech Vudu

Steiner Military is a nice scope. In general, Military is just a name and by itself does not mean a whole lot other than this is the highest end scope Steiner makes. Steiner M5Xi scopes are indeed used by some military customers in Europe, but I do not recall which ones. I am not sure why that is relevant though.
The last M5Xi 5-25x56 I tested was a very respectable scope. Compared to the S&B I had, in terms of optical performance it was similar to the S&B in the 12x to 18x range. It was better than S&B at lower magnification and a little worse at higher magnification.
Mechanically, I had no issues with it. It is all somewhere on my website in one of the High End Tactical articles.

I agree. For what you want to do, it will make no difference. For your specific application, my original recommendation of a SWFA fixed pwoer scope still stands.

Given how much drop you'll have a mile out, you also should consider getting a TARAC Bravo or somethign along those lines.

I have one already bud, well, the US Optics version of it. Excellent scope, have it on another .308 but I want a little more magnification. Like someone already said, shooting a mile out of say a Scar is a waste of ammo so I want to make sure I have the most to play with and more mag will help me at least. Most of it is a retarded thing of principle for me, call me crazy but anything of that price should be able to survive a Scar 17 or FAL there are others that do which I already own like the smaller 1-6 Razor and the big brother so I don't want to get another Razor and look like a Vortex advertisement. Also, it's not going to be for the Scar, I just want to use it on the Scar or at least be able to.

It’s one thing to compare scopes and say, “to me the Steiner turrets felt mushy compared to Hensoldt/TT.” That’s why people have preferences, and are willing to pay 4K+ for that last 2% of performance. Quite another to just say “turrets are mushy.”
