I'm not inclined to waste my time making lengthy remarks until the OP becomes an active participant in the discussion.

But I will pause for a moment of "WTF?!?" to wonder why an engineer is using a kitchen knife in the shop. Go hit Menards during one of their tool sales, when they sell those "snap knives" by the fistful for $10 or thereabouts, and scatter enough of them around the shop to where you're never more than a step or two away from at least one. Then, buy a couple nice multitools and folding pocket knives, and carry them in your pocket at all times. This is pretty basic stuff that should have been taught in Manhood 101, but then again I was lucky enough to go to high school prior to the metal detector era.

Lol... It's amazing the amount of men here bitching like women and preaching the drama of women like a woman. Maybe the problem with 1/2 of you is your inability to realize your just like them but with a penis for a brain that does all the thinking. The disrespectful manner in which some of you talk about your wives it's amazing any of you were ever able to get a women to even date you none the less marry. You get what you give in a relationship... Try giving a little more and whining like 12 year old girls a little less.

Ask a married guy how that would go over.

She'll probably get you super drunk, you'll pass out and you'll probably wake up rolled up tight in a roll of carpet with her sitting nearby in a chair eyeballing you. Her favorite kitchen tool (skillet/rolling pin/whatever) will be in her hand. She'll ask "You awake?"
You reply in the affirmative.
"So, you did my sister, huh?"

Let us know how long it takes at the ER before you're moved to recovery.....

If she blows up that easy over HER kitchen stuff (women are VERY territorial about their kitchens)then you should either make sure you respect HER STUFF or find another woman who will put up with your decision to trespass.

You made a choice and/but she's(going overboard in)"punishing" you.

Buy her another knife.

Don't do it (take stuff out of the kitchen) again.
Get your tupperware and tools at the thrift store or pawn shop like the other guys said.

BE ALERT for other territorial behavior. However, if she's bi-polar (AND not taking her meds), you're screwed. You'll never be right.

Generally, Fiancee's put up with your behavior. Wives don't. You'll learn.

I have been married 51 years to the same woman and I would strongly recommend that you look around for someone not so high strung and controlling. You are facing a long argument the rest of your life with this woman.

Many people refer to the other person living in their house, sleeping in their bed, doing their laundry, cleaning their toilets, and cleaning their house, oh, and having sex with their "Fiance' . Doesn't mean they will ever marry them, just easier to say than live in housekeeper/maid/cook/laundress/and occasional sexual partner.
Like many of the others, I suggest not allowing such high-strung behavior, and for crap sake get your own tools. If you are still using kitchen knives for shop tools you are an idiot. If you are using fine knives for a shop implement you have little to no respect for fine tools, and probably don't really deserve a man-cave of your own.
Seeking marital advise on Sniper's Hide is like seeking legal advice.

I told the wife this story. I use our kitchen knifes sometimes to open packages. The other day I used a knife to cut the take on a box of toys from Brownnells. She started to break my balls and busted out laughing. He even put a dig out to ya!

To keep this from happening at my house we have simple rules:

I don't have stuff, wife don't have stuff:

WE HAVE STUFF.

In my opinion, the word "marriage" derives from the word "merage", meaning we two, merged into one, via our marriage.

The only difference is she's a bit better in putting stuff back where they belong then I am. She may kid me about this, but she always helps me hunt for what I misplaced.
