nobody has listed any new info from any other scope companies schmidt, henny, kahles ,steiner, etc... nothing new for shotshow 2014 ?

Tangent Theta's are amazing. Everything you liked about Premier, everything you didn't is fixed.
I didn't see anytging new at Kahles and I REALLY wanted the K312 to be updated with illumination.
Nothing new at Steiner.
S&B had a 3-20x50 Ultra Short to go with the 5-20. Didn't spend much time on it. Like the Leupold Mk 6, I don't like capped windage.
Tangent Theta looke awesome! There is a clear need to follow up on them.
March-F 3-24x52 and Tactical 2.5-25x52 were however the big news. Whenever I think they get just as good as a scope can get, they shock me with a new one that's even greater. When will that stop?
These scopes are definite killers.
U.S: Optics came with a new 1-4x22. What a scope? Realy impressed with it.

Ya'll may hear about me robbing a bank or something in the near future, but what ever it takes I want that new 2.5-25X52. I do not plan on giving up my beloved IOR, but I am planning a new build and this scope would be awesome on top of it!
Just one man's opinion, but I checked out the 2 new 52mm obj March's today and thought the eyebox was still really tight. Was bummed.

I have an IOR, I'm just about to have a heart attack over wanting one of the new March 52's. But I have also been quietly looking at Steiner, I have a pair of Military Binoculars from them that are awesome. I have always wondered about there scopes.
I was as well. Since the 2.5-10x24 NF was cut from the civilian market there really aren't too many 1-Higher mag options that don't cost 2K.
If you want a nice eyebox you have to go to the Germans. The Mark6 and 8s have generous eyeboxes as well.
I'm waiting on my NF BEAST
but have another rifle that I'm looking at either a Kahles k624 or Steiner. I know Steiner has a very good Mil discount program but don't know what Kahles is like.
Well, here's what I got out of them after another day at the show. The optics are just as good as it can get as far as looking at them indoors. Of course, outdoor, in backlight, poor light conditions etc, there could be different but what I understood from Erik, who's the brain behind them, they kept the proven Premier optics but worked on the areas where the Premier flawed. What they did was that they addressed the parallax issue making it work after som internal improvements and they totally improved the turrets. This is an area where again, TT and March have no direct competition.
They also equip the scopes with Tenebraex flip-up shades as well ARDs. Pretty cool, I guess.
The 3-15x come with only Mil reticles while the 5-25x come with both.

If I may expand on the topic, I don't feel that Shortcut fully conveyed the true gravity of the turrets. The turrets are the best there is on the planet. PERIOD. No if's, and's or but's. Perfect in every way, they feel and sound better than ANYTHING else available. The perfect amount of tension, no more hard to turn turrets that make you skip over where you meant to dial like the Premiers did and the click is in feel what a Honey-Crisp apple is in the world of fruit. Better than March? Yes! Better than Schmidt-Bender? Muthafucka I already told you it's the BEST!
The zero stop is the easiest and simplest design for the user there is. No tools, none; and gone are the clicks after you had disnegaged the turret on the old PH's. Once you loosen the finger screw on top the turret spins freely until you tighten it back down. I can't imagine anything more convenient for someone who can only afford one great scope and needs to move it from one rifle to another.
The glass is the same as Premier had used, nobody ever said they wished for something more out of a Premier Heritage optically that I've ever heard.
I'm pimping them hard all over the optics forum, but they were absolutely the highlight of my SHOT show this year. I'm like a little bitch in love. I am not affiliated with them in any way, just a user who had his socks blown off.
To convince the wife that we needed a new $4k+ scope this year I took the little lady on an epic optics journey today, from the BEAST to Kahles, S&B, Steiner, Hensoldt, the new Razors and March. I made her wring the knobs, and move her head around behind it to get a feel for the eyebox, she messed with illumination and compared reticles. I ended the day at Tangent Theta having checked them out the day before and when she got behind it and had done all the futzing she needed she said "OK, I'm sold. You were right, it's the shit, get one!" Her willingness to accept the expenditure is all the proof I need that it's the king of Boggle.

Do you know what the tough thing is? It's that I am trying to figure out if selling the car would cover for a Hensoldt 3.5-27x56, a March 2.5-25x52 and a Tangent Theta 3-15x50. I better start dusting off that damn bicycle. They may be expensive but the feeling of landing on top of the optics pyramide will make my sleep a whole lot better.
I hear ya. At least your car is worth enough to buy cool items with the money. My everyday car is worth less than any single one of the scopes mentioned. Whatdafuh, I just drive to work and back. Priorities, right?

This is funny. Me too. I'd have a hard time buying a used NXS 3-15 with the proceeds from selling my car.
The Tangent Theta is on my list for sure but I am going to wait till next year ot be able to hold and see one for myself at Shot Show. Since it sounds like you made your way around to a the Vortex Razor. What was your opinion of it? How did the clicks feel?

The Razors were nice. Turrets weren't my favorite, a little harder to turn than I like but good and postive. The locking feature is cool. I think those who liked the 5-20x will be well pleased with the new ones. The new reticles are well sorted out. They are boat anchors for sure, that was the turn-off for me. Heavy as fuckin shit!
S&B had something built in to a 5-25 that paired with a computer like a nomad and gave you corrections inside the scope. Kind of like a HUD. They did not have it functioning at the time I went by so I am not sure what it looks like. They said it tells you your corrections while looking thru the scope so you don't have to break your cheek weld. Pretty cool idea.
I own have both Steiner and March as well as S&B and a few others and the march is by far a better optic IMO. There is no issue for the eye box for me with the 3.5-24x42, 5-40x56 or the 1-8x24 I have at this point. If you cant find the eye box something isnt right with your setup or maybe Im lucky but I see very small amount of difference between any optic I mentioned. I can find it with zero problems throwing the gun up on a 90* angle on a "window" and have no problems engaging targets out to 725 yards (our ranges furthest range) That being said the Steiner is nice, just wished they would follow Kahles with the floating dot for the MRS reticel.
This is of great interest to me, there is nothing on their website about it, but would love to know more. If anyone had a chance to see it or hear more about it please share.
I was really hoping Val might have something new and innovative for SHOT this year. When I was at his shop late last year he told me that something is coming but wouldn't elaborate, but he did say it might take a while to work it out. The glass is fantastic and I like the new Xtreme reticles as they are better than the old MP-8, at least easier on my eyes than the older MP-8 style. He also mentioned all new scopes would get the more refined (rounded corners, etc.) turret box that is currently on the 4-28, the 4-28 also has HD glass which the others do not so we might see an update to the glass as well.
March has a very similar reticle to Valdada with a dot in the center, very nice, but I'd love to see March come out with a Christmas tree reticle like the MSR or IOR Xtreme style. But I have to say that I think March has an edge in optical clarity; however, I have not had an opportunity to look at them side by side, when I tested the Valdada scopes I did not yet have a March. The new March 3-24x52 is tops on my list, the only other contender would be the S&B 3-20x50 (especially the new Ultra Short, but that may take 18-24 months before we ever see it on the shelves).
March has something up their sleeve yes the 3-24x52 is going to be a great compact and lightweight option that I will most definitely have on a few prs guns. I have the 5-40x56 and even though I would prefer the 1/10mil increments I'm usually under 7mils anyways so no biggy there.

I checked out the Razor first hand at show. I love the power range, new lit reticle design and the indicator on the turret. Im not a fan of all these turrets that must be pulled up to disengage the brake. I guess people complain about they moving thats why so many companies went that way. The Vortex might be out in March thats not too far away.
I saw 4 new scopes that weren't on display... unfortunately I can't report on any of them.
But there are new scopes on the horizon. Their was actually a 5th too, but I didn't see it, just told it was coming.
Most companies are maintaining, the ones I saw probably won't be talked about for a while, except maybe the one I saw at Kahles, it has the best chance for the earliest release.

You break my heart Frank. Out of curiosity, why would a scope company not reveal anything they have coming, unless it is because they are in R&D and have no idea if they will come to fruition.
Now this is exciting, I was really hoping Kahles would have something new, especially in the magnification range so while you can't elaborate on any of this, I will hope they come out with possibly a 6x scope
Dost thou temptest me further, this is the scope that is at the top of my list and your comment helps solidify that for me!
Referring to the new Burris laser, tell us more. Was it the optics, accuracy? And I just realized that this may be a laser pointing device and not a rangefinder, but let us know either way.
