Auto Airbag for Backblast Containmen

I am attempting to reduce the back blast from several rifles like the Barrett M107, Barrett M98B and the Armalite AR-30 in .338 Lapua.

Has anyone experience in using the auto air bags? Their design is intended to survive a minor explosion not unlike the gas from the flash hider.

Never "pondered" that one.....we did play with a deployed Del Sol airbag in Autobody in High School......called it Marsha! Marsha! Marsha!

Are you planing on using an "airbag deployment" to suppress the blast? Or a "deployed airbag".....like a condom that was too big?

yup an if it doesnt have a tax stamp. there some jail time coming even if its just a airbag to catch some of the gas

It all started with shooting out of a gun port.
Then it went to shooting out of a tent.
Then it went to shooting out of a bivy bag.
Then it went to shooting out of piece of one foot foam out of the bag.
Then it went to shooting out of a nomex firefighters survival tent.
Some testing was done with M80's in a bag.


The end game seems to approach a soft, flexible, fire resistant cloth tube gun case with two hose clamps and a $200 stamp. To deploy, unzip and clamp the front just ahead of the muzzle break. Unzip the back and clamp it in front of the scope. The remaining volumn contains the back blast and the dust signature.
