AutoTrickler V4

Thanks for sharing and you hold the close button in the setting screen to go advanced?
Yes sir. Takes a second or 2 then the advance menu will pop up. Just make sure to learn what they all do. It would be helpful if one of the guys that got the pre release units posted the directions they got. From my understanding there directions explained all the advance settings.

When you do overthrow, is it from the large tube?

8-10 seconds is faster than mine, but, I actually have not had a large over throw, only the .02 or 1 kernel over.
I also have my scale level and the get the small tube feed slow enough, I have the trickler leaning back slightly.
H4350 is the only thing I have run through it so far, but from what I gather, it will be one off the hardest to dial in.

My Settings.
Yes it's very rare but I have had a .2 or .3 and it happened alot more when I hade the forward tilt. Usually when the large tube would go to back up a large clump would fall. Now with my current settings and the scale level it's very very rare to have happen if ever but I wanted to put that out there incase it did. My thought has always been to be very aggressive with the large tube then aggressive at first with the small. When I first set the v4 up and just calibrated it the small tube was very slow and would get stuck on the last kernel or 2 alot. There are 2 ways I can see the system improved. One would be to have the small tube start slightly sooner and 2 shape the small tube like the large to see if it would separate each kernel.

People who have gotten a v4 recently… when did you order?

I was late to the party and ordered april. I got a pre order for a super trickler in too to compare and move the one I don’t need.

I love my V4. I load .284 win and 6gt with it. Very consistent and very rarely have any issues or overthrows. Takes about 12 seconds to get to 49.2 grains of H4350 and 10 seconds for 34 grains of varget.
Care to post your settings and if u have the scale level or tilted and if so how much. We need people posting good settings. I honestly think alot of the people having issues don't understand what they are doing or are making large changes.

So I have the scale level, all I do is let it run a few charges, stop it, press the calibrate speed button and leave it at 5. After that, I go about my charging and everything goes smoothly. I'll post a picture of my settings when I can but I really don't do any more than that. I also run n570 with the same procedure, sure it takes a little longer but I don't mind.

When you sell your ATV4 but keep your scale, what do you do with the "cup stop" that is adhered to the scale pan? Trying to figure out what I need to send to a buyer and what parts of the scale I need to keep for my ST.

Use a razor blade to pop it up. The new buyer will have to get the correct double sided tape to put on it.

Haha just scroll up 29 pages. By all accounts the supertrickler is a major advance. I’m not fucking around with shims and tips and bluetooth and all the other known deficiencies and hassles that the “true believers” loyalists and apologists have glossed over. I can hand throw from a uniflow and hand trickle RL50 and beat the ATV4 while waiting on the Super.

@357Max , @pfl338 After tapping the tube you both mention larger powders like N570 which I use a lot then my other main powder is 4831SC, can either of you say how it works with the tube mod? At this time I don't see myself using ball powder but you never know.

My main issue is the thing can spend for ever looking for the last kernel and then it accidentally drops 2, I am thinking I'll tap the tube and get the tip from @jthor

Is your small tube not threaded?

So after tapping the small tube through with a 1/4-20 tap it pulled powder through like an auger, super fast! To make it a bit more refined I took a 1/4-20 grub screw and drilled a .09ish (don't remember the exact size) using a lathe and screwed that into the end. The flow is really good and at a reduced more predictable flow rate now.
If I had to do it over I would only thread the exit end about 1 inch deep and put in the reducer. Either way you still have to play with the slide feature on the app to fine tune the drops.

So was your not threaded at all? Mine came threaded about a inch at the end. Imo that seems the best way to separate the kernels for extruded powder. Its slick so it has very little grip then at the end it grips the powder to make them more of a single file.

yes it was, but the thread pitch was very fine, the 20 pitch threads are more course and seems to pull the powder up the tube more reliably.

Finally here. Working so far.

I've had my AT4 for about 5 weeks now and only get 1 over throw every 30+ drops with H4350. I'd say your issue is operator error...
I have to agree. Some people aren't able to understand the setting. I have enjoyed my V4. I have helped a few people and this has been the case. Now I do also think they could do a better job explaining the settings for the people that aren't as mechanically minded. I do think some people jumped ship a little quick. The super trickler has 200 units in the wild and the v4 has thousands. And in this thread the 10 that had issues have been very vocal for some reason.

5 WHOLE weeks of experience?

Please tell people in here who have owned half a dozen over the last few years about what they are doing wrong. People who have owned the ATV since it came out or have thrown thousands of charges in the last year on it.

Fucking retards. Dunning-Kruger up in this mother fucker.

Because there is no fucking fix for it. We have already spent hundreds in aftermarket shit to try unfuck something that should run from the factory. Adam has avoided this question and refuses to address it, even though he knows about it and has admitted hes working on a firmware update to fix what is essentially a manufacturing /design defect. he is making money hand over fist, don't got time to deal with the 5 or 10 or 20% of people who have issues. Its like a bad scope. 60% of shooters are too fucking ignorant to even know there is something wrong. You don't know what you don't know. As someone who has loaded thousands on an ATV just this year, has spent countless hours trying EVERY setting combination possible to get it to meter correctly, and undoubtedly has a higher IQ than most of the shit heels posting in here, I can say with 100% confidence this is not user error. When others are saying the same thing, its time to shut the fuck up and listen.

And you get the ignorant fucks like you who just whitewash any issues because YOU haven't experienced them and cannot grasp simple statistics.

Your lack of experience does not invalidate others experience. If you realized how illogical your whole premise is, you would be embarrassed to post.

But here we are, ignorance is bliss.

U have no clue and I have nothing to prove. But your winning and bitching has added alot to the conversation so, thanks.

So far my V4 is working awsome.

Had a few overthrows with imr 4451, big sticky logs otherwise powders I normally load have been working great. Havnt messed with it much yet just calibrated the powder and threw away on speed 5.

Considering canceling my super trickler order…

We appear to be collecting reviews here and I have been using my ATv4 for 5 months now so I feel I can chime in. The v4 has lived up to half the claims. I was expecting ~10 second and kernel perfect. I would say I get 40% a grain under and 40% a grain over and the last 20% is repeated ~10 grains over. I have read the SH forums, watched Adams videos, and filled both tubes before calibrating twice as well as reducing the slow tube rates in the menus. My v4 and A&D are stock, no shims or tips, level on wood and dryer wiped for static. I have used Varget, H1000, H4350 and Bullseye. I get largely the same experience all around.

Would I buy the v4 again? Yes, I think so. It is faster than me hand metering it out with a GemPro. Is it more accurate? No. Just faster, which makes my reloading less tedious, and is enough for me to put up with the flaws. Adam seems like a decent fellow so I hope the fix I hear about is soon and effective. The idea to continue pouring money into other tools to fix the v4 is a non-starter though.
