Ever heard of Vimy Ridge? We took that in 4 days (with a fraction of the casualties) while the British and French were unsuccessful for months on end.
Even the Nazis were scared of us. They executed 148 Canadian soldiers behind enemy lines a few days after D-Day because we took the fight so hard to the enemy.
The Canadian Expeditionary Force was the original “storm troopers” before the SS took the term 21 years later.
I'm not sure "we were the original Storm Troopers" is quite the own you want it to be.

the Canadian forces were used to smash through the German lines in Italy so Patton could easily march to Rome. That’s what I mean by storm troopers.

bs, you need to learn. Canada suckled at the teet of the US taxpayer and armed forces with what ammounted to a joke of a token defense force while the US kept the NA secure. That doesn't even include having to literally provide planes, ships etc to Canada during ww2. The country as a whole came about for fear of US invasion during civil war otherwise you'd have 2 seperate commonwealths up there. As a whole, Canada's contribution to global security, North American security, much less contribution to the world in general with science, laws, etc etc sucks.
Canada, beautiful, vast, rich in resources was the country populated by those that rejected the Revolution. Canada sucks

I am throwing every dollar I can spare at the legal fund for the CCFR court challenge. Trying to convince others to join the fight or even just get a firearms license. Participating in events and organizations that are trying to grow our sport here. The fight is far from over.
Ouch dude. We are still relevant though. Underfunded and mistreated as they are, the Canadian Forces sure lived up to their fighting reputation in Afghanistan. Fucked up the Taliban every chance they had.

Nope. But I also live in a state where lockdowns weren't really "a thing" for an extended period of time, especially in rural areas. Even in the rather populated area I live in, I would say the most inconvenient thing for me was the lack of in person learning in the schools. That sucked because it drastically affected my kid, my wife (who is a teacher and wanted to be in the classroom), and myself because it was putting a big hurdle in front of me in order to effectively do my job.
Our situation here was in sharp contrast to what we saw in other parts of the US (and still in some cases see). I freely admit on a worldwide level there has been a level of idiocy demonstrated by most governments, but to me it sure seems like Canada is at the forefront of the continued idiocy, especially with the advent of a vaccine. I also think that the stark difference in the two countries is so much more apparent now when it is out in front of you, IE hockey game with no fans.
I didn't start the thread to turn into a hate on Canada fiesta, although I knew that was probably a good possibility. I was more interested in hearing from people who live in Canada who might relate their experience to mine. For example, someone from a town in Alberta who has had to put up with a bunch of bullshit that comes from a town in Quebec. I have family who live on a border town in a very rural part of the country, and they say the Canadian rules and regs are still much more gestapo like, even though they live in basically a wilderness.
I played a lot of hockey in southern Alberta growing up, and most of the teams we played were in towns that were just like where I lived. Towns that had the kind of people who I would have thought at some point would just say "enough is enough". I just have to wonder how much longer things up there will continue to suck, and how long people will take it.
Kinda surprised nobody has mentioned this little tidbit about a member of the Canadian military. This being the Snipers Hide forum and all. 
I live in “Letterkenny” or Listowel as it properly named. We are a small farm town hundreds of kilometres outside of Toronto and have seen a stark difference in the handling of the pandemic. All the cases were in the city. All the stupidity came from the city. But we were subject to the same restrictions. People that lived 20 hours drive away from Toronto we told to stay home because the cases in the city were too high. Other than a few big cities, all Canada is in small towns in remote places.

Quasi normal. Restaurants open last week for outdoor dining. Can go shopping with a mask, buy weed and beer if you need to but can’t get a haircut or go to the gym. I am still not allowed at the indoor range at the gun club.

This is what I am interested in. This is where the bulk of the US was about 6 months ago, and in my neck of the woods most of what you just listed never really even happened. In South Dakota, they just said fuck it and went on with their lives, with no real recognizable difference than states that shut down all around them.

Umm no. That was the Germans in WWI, and WWII, before the western allies invaded France. The Canadians where awesome, but Germany was doing that stuff in combat before anyone else was.
I understand it as Rob is number 3 on that list of longest shot. Unnamed Canadian Sniper is number 1 (most likely JTF2) and second I think is a Marine Corps Sniper, not sure if Force Recon or a part of SOCOM.
Every time the Germans realized the Canadians were opposite them in the trenches in WW1, they immediately called for reinforcements to that area. Our savagery on the battlefield is legendary.

The British would lob tins of beef to starving Germans. The Canadians would lob a few tins and when the Germans asked for more they got armfuls of live grenades.
I’m not arguing that the Canadians weren’t bad ass. I’m saying that taking the title of “original shock troops” is really not the case, and disrespectful to the people that where doing it for a while before you guys.
Exactly who was doing it before us? We fought in the Boer war with the British and against you guys in 1812. Burnt down the White House too. We have never conceded land against the US either. You guys tried to take Toronto and they blew up the magazine killing hundreds of American Navymen and all but stopping that attack in its tracks.

It looks like the best things that Canada ever had were the Hells Angels and the Outlaws... Shame they had to go to war with each other...
If you’re going to go that far back, then I guess we can go back farther than Canada existed. But we’re not, we where talking about modern shock troops, as you called them. The people doing that where the Germans. In WWI, and WWII.
If you had have had a few Canadians in the mix at the Alamo, perhaps it would have turned out different.
Even the Nazi’s were afraid to run up against Canadians. Had a standing order not to take them prisoner, too dangerous to keep alive.

In sask the farther out from the cities you go the more normal everyone gets with the covid stuff. From what i understand resturants are open and running at a reduced capacity. Depending on where you go they either couldn't care if you have a mask or they bring you one and say its law to have one. These covid restrictions(mask, reduced capacity/gatherings) are suppose to end here in a month or less.
