Okay so after hearing the podcast where this is mentioned. If I am understanding it correctly you want the pad higher for prone/PRS type shooting and lower for standing? What has worked for everyone?

What does that look like for you? Just center?

For me it’s something like this.

High - prone
Neutral - positional
Low - unsupported

Take a neutral height and get in the above positions. You’ll like see on positional (barricades and such) because you’re kneeling/standing behind the rifle, you have room to set the rifle up and move your body to it. Hence neutral working.

Prone, the gun will be a little “under” your shoulder.

Unsupported the rifle will be higher.

All due to body position required.

If your stock/chassis has a quick adjust butt pad, then you can adjust as needed. If not, whichever shooting type you do most, set it up for that. If it’s prs, set it up neutral and you can make prone work because, wel, it’s prone, and unsupported because it makes up the smallest amount of stages.
