Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

I have a 6mm Bartlein Barrel that I would like to have shouldered, coned, chambered, threaded, etc. Is there a comprehensive list of reputable companies that do this for CDG?
The coned breech was a curve ball for a few of us that were and are ARC fans. I think it may have been effective on some previous ARC actions and certain other actions and cartridges as well.
I know about search function but would like to hear from the wealth of knowledge here.
Any replies appreciated and thank's for your time.
SPR(bugholes) will, PVA, straight jacket, LRI

I don't know if it has been posted but with MPA's adoption of the ARC CDG, I hope we get larger traction with prefits like Proof.

Welp, I ordered a full PMR matrix pro with the CDG action last week. I'll probably post about it sometime next year when it shows up 🤣

So I ordered June 8th, should I be expecting Christmas?

I've got a KRG W3, bartlien 30 cal and a trigger tech all waiting for this thing to show up.
Ordered first week of May. Weeks ago I read here that someone had spoke to ARC and that all orders before July 1(?) would be fulfilled in the 4 month time frame. Maybe my memory is off on that.

Anyway, I'm well beyond 4 months. No action in hand yet.

Okay, so you made me do the math. You are all of what 2-3 weeks max past your imaginary due date? I wish you luck in your patient surveillance of the mailbox. 👍🏻

Just wanted to let everyone know, I called and talked to Ted personally and explained to him how a bunch of people here feel they should get repeated up dates weekly on this thread. He wanted me to pass along, orders are coming in, orders are being fulfilled, and orders are being shipped and delivered.

Most importantly he asked me to pass along, ALL orders placed before July 1, will without a doubt, no matter if you ordered a long action or a left handed rarest of the rare, all will be in hand of those that ordered NLT Octember 1. Hope this clarifies everything for everyone.
Found it.
My due date isn't imaginary. It's the stated (albeit loose) lead time via ARC's website. I do careful surveillance of that, too. Sorry I made you do math.

The data in this thread says its taken almost 6 months for most orders that are right handed actions. The latest data I've seen posted suggests 5.5 months to just under 6 months for both LA and SA RH actions.

I'd hope the lead times are coming down as they churn through orders. Hopefully ARC gets under the 4-month mark sooner than later. I'm not very confident in that for us common consumers, with Vudoo and now MPA ordering actions for in-house rifles.

FWIW I ordered my RH LA on 01 May so I'm right there with you. I'm one week out from the 5-month point. Based on past deliveries we're likely to see our actions before the end of October.

Quite the contrary. Mine was a couple weeks after opening, and I've had it for over a month.
Good for you and the combination you bought....but that doesn't negate the fact that my 2/10 purchase date RH, LA, 30moa, Magnum is still not ready. I did talk to Bella last week and it sounds like it should ship in 2-3 weeks as their waiting on the next batch of magnum bolt faces to go out for heat treat.

Nope, didn’t find it.. soooo close… You do realize I’m not the one who stated 4 months, right?? no where in my post you quoted did I state a 4 month lead time. I’m sorry if I made you do reading comprehension.

Im aware you didn't say 4 months. Im so aware of it, that I never put it on you. My 4 month timeline, like I clearly and explicitly stated earlier, was based upon ARC's website. Your post, if anything, was a small hit of hopium that it would be true.

Yet here we are: 5 days from Oct 1, and no sign of an action for so many of us. It would appear your almost staunch claims about "buy before July 1 and get it by Oct 1!" were complete and utter BS.

Seems to me you should be speaking as an authority on CDG order fullfilment about as much as you should "reading comprehension"

So, seeing as how, reading comprehension still alludes you, I’m going to try to brake this down to you Barney style…

So me putting a post about an expected arrival time of OCTEMBER 1 gave you hopium?? OCTEMBER 1, not October 1, but OCTEMBER 1… I apologize that my almost staunch claims about a fictitious date, that doesn’t even exist on any calendar I’ve ever seen, gave you hope and made you somehow think that I was a marketing and order fulfillment executive for ARC. It appears I will have to “place” another call to Ted and Bella and inquire to my late paychecks… hey, who knows, maybe they’re with your action!!!

So I once again recommend you work on your reading comprehension, as apparently I AM an authority on both reading comprehension and ARC’s order fulfillment, because OCTEMBER 1 hasn’t arrived yet, so ARC hasn’t missed the deadline and I have it on good authority, they never will miss that suspense date.

Lol, look. You should just let this die. By mentioning reading comprehension, he was referring to the fact that his post was tongue in cheek and was intended as a joke. Reading the posts before and after would have helped with this. Anyway, here’s what you should have seen in that post to clue you in:
Most importantly he asked me to pass along, ALL orders placed before July 1, will without a doubt, no matter if you ordered a long action or a left handed rarest of the rare, all will be in hand of those that ordered NLT Octember 1. Hope this clarifies everything for everyone.
I realize that it was subtle sarcasm, which is why you mistook it for factual and a misspelling. It’s okay since it’s interwebs and nuance can easily be lost.

Both he and I were using subtle humor to let you know that it will be here when it gets here. Not before, nor after, but when it actually gets here. You signed up for as much despite ARC and their optimism.

I don’t think it’s truly unrealistic to expect your shipping notice sometime in October, but don’t quote me as some source that said so. It’s completely a SWAG on my part.

hahaha wow. Yeah ok, ive been had. I accept defeat
It’s not defeat. Most of us are in this with you. I just didn’t want you to be arguing over something that won’t matter in 6 months, preferably a lot less.

It’s a fine action for a killer price. I’m just lucky that I have barely made plans for this build and am slowly gather pieces parts. It’s much easier to wait this way.

Wasn’t there someone running a takeoff Savage barrel on their CDG? Thinking about picking up a 223 barrel to throw on while I’ll wait for my PBB 223AI barrel to get done… might feed a little wonky without the coned breach but who knows

I'm curious about the coned breech. While I'm sure it helps feeding, I'm not convinced it's actually necessary in most cases. The Aero Solus feeds from AW magazines and claims it works with origin prefits. No mention of a coned breech there.
I was under the impression that the only reason why the CDG required a con breach face was because it does not have an integral feed ramp so the con breach face would act as the feed ramp

The solus is also a completely different rifle.

First pages of this thread explain it all. Don't remember how far in. Karagias showed some pictures showing which ones need it and why and which will be fine without. Magnums are fine without.

My understanding was the coned breech helps with feeding from AW mags because they're double stack. It makes the entry hole larger. Maybe I misunderstood.

I reference the Solus because it's also a three lug bolt and feeds from an AW magazine. I figured it would run into the same issues as the CDG.

How I see it is the Solus was made to operate with either AICS or AW mags whereas the CDG was designed around the AW and to allow the magazine to sit higher, and that would be complicated with a feed ramp and thus the coned Breech face is preferred. If I am wrong on this, please, somebody correct me.

Thanks for that. Conical breeches are definitely awesome for smooth feeding but not always necessary if the bullet tip finds the hole. The Coup has a 6 o'clock lug that effectively strips the cartridge from the mag. That lug needs to pass through a 6 o'clock slot in the receiver. The bullet tips of small cartridges will not get high enough to find the chamber and require the conical breech. The 300 Norma and 338 Lapua Mags find the hole and can be run with a flat breech. The pics below tell the tale, sort of.

I think so. See pic below. But again, cone breeches are a good thing and not hard to get.

PBB had the action in stock when I bought it. The page for the actions says buying a barrel at the same time gets free expedited service. I can't find anywhere on their website that says what the expedited timeline actually is.

Good to know they'll email me when the barrel is getting made at least. I won't bother them with a call yet, its only been three weeks. I'm sure it'll come soon enough.
I ordered action and barrel from PBB, and the expedited thing is real. I ordered July 25 and it all shipped on August 10th.

I called PBB last week, they said expedited orders typically ship in 3z4 weeks but that they had some delays getting 6mm blanks cut. They said it'll be made up pretty soon.
Yeah mine was all pretty basic stuff, SA, RH, 20MOA rail, barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor in their .850 taperless. Probably their most common order.

First group after zeroing to 100m and a little bit of barrel break-in came in at .8 MOA, which isn't bad considering I was using a pretty garbage rest and I'm not particularly skilled. So kudos to them on that.

One downside was that the wrench flats were not made square to the rail—they're off by about 20deg—which is a cosmetic blem but still a little annoying given that they had the action on hand when spinning the barrel. I said something to them about it, so hopefully they'll have their processed fixed for yours.
