I contacted Warhorse after having a Tactical Udder and a mini GC at the same time. I love the design of the Saracen/Udder but the canvas of the mini GC was unreal. I asked them if they could make me a custom Saracen using waxed canvas and after some back and forth and researching on their end they came up with a plan. I recieved it Monday and its fantastic! It molds around and settles so easily on everything I've thrown it on. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. The pictures dont do the flex and moldability of it justice. Thanks for a great bag Warhorse!

Is the advantage of the wax canvas material on this and the GC that it is a little more flexible and molds to positions a little easier?

Got some 20oz waxed canvas in from a vendor on Etsy. Warhorse recommended half yard for the Comanche. The vendor is Alex M Lynch and the canvas is made here in the US. Once the holiday break is over I’m sending this to Warhorse. The canvas is definitely “stiffer” and waxier compared to the waxed canvas Game Changer. I’m sure it’ll break in just fine. Can’t wait!
Just a note.. I ordered Field Tan which is supposed to be lighter but it’s more dark brown. I’m fine with it.

Are you sending the fabric in to be turned into a bag I take it?

@FleetDaddy “man”purse or “male nurse? Not sure which!!! Just kidding give me a shout offline and I’ll see what we can come up with.

@021411 You beat me to it! We have a couple different colors in our cart. I was going to shoot you a line after the holiday and see what color you wanted. I look forward to it.

Just email them, they are excellent at communicating about what you want.

My bag has gotten softer with use. By far my favorite bag I've ever used. I use it as a rear bag as much as anything.
Nice. I have a PR class coming up this weekend and should have my bags by then. Besides the Comanche, I have a Taffy and Canister also on the way.

@Nik H I believe I may make the waxed canvas an option. After playing @021411’s Comanche I’m waxed canvas (yes, I had to do a dry fire session with it yesterday to see how awesome it was) and @jsimonh’s Saracen when I made it, plus the multiple requests I’ve had, it’s only smart to go ahead and do it. So one of my tasks today was finding a reliable source for material. Shoot me an email in the meantime and we can get the ball rolling on a bag for you.

Thanks,
Chas

Thanks Chas

As I already have a GC original, I was really interested in something smaller. Would you recommend the Comanche or the Saracen in waxed canvas?

You can PM me the details on ordering and cost so we don't gum up this thread.

Thanks for your help

I received my Warhorse Saracen bags and just wanted to say how great Chas was to deal with. Not only are the bags top notch, he went above and beyond what I asked for and got them to me in a hurry. Thanks Chas, I'll be buying more of your products soon.

+1 for Chas.
Great guy producing awesome products even better customer service...he went above & beyond for my order to help me out ...

I have & use a Warhorse Saracen bag & it's incredible.
We need more gentleman like him in the industry.

++1 for Chas. Super guy to deal with and awesome bag. very good communication. Mine is florescent Green to stand out from
the rest. Highly recomend giving him a shout, He will work with ya on whatever ya want.

Got my bags in. Thanks Chas and Dawn for taking care of a plain Jane regular customer. The bags are awesome and the canister is HEAVY with the sand fill. It ain’t moving anywhere. Good stuff..
I took a pic of the Comanche next to a GC for comparison.
I’m a customer for life.

Have you tried it as a rear bag yet? What kind of stick do you run?
I haven’t live fired with it yet but will this weekend. Due to the smaller size, it does work better for me a rear bag. I’ve been messing around with it. The different parts of the bag give me different levels of elevation and I can easily manipulate the bag for micro adjustments. I like it.
I have 24” Alamo Precision 6.5 Creedmoor on an Axiom action and MPA Comp chassis.

I am looking forward to your thoughts after trying it

Warhorse Comanche in waxed canvas.. LOVE IT. Gave the bag a workout in horrible wet/cold/misty north Texas weather today. Worked superb as a rear bag and of course a barricade bag. I also used it on some PRS practice stages. 7035467

Nice to know that it worked well. Looks nice as well. Would like to see how it handles the weather in New England. @Birch Creek told me they are investigating wax canvas suppliers that are cheaper than Etsy. Hopefully won't take too long. It looks like the perfect size.
The canvas got damp but it’s drying out pretty quickly in the hotel room.
