I tried to search for this but did not find exactly what I was looking for so here goes. I recently purchased a Sig 516 upper. Took it out to the range with 223 (55 grain) and it would only eject on the "dirty" setting and not on the "normal" setting. It would not feed another round on any setting. I read that the piston system for sigs were meant for 556, at least initially. So I purchased some 55 grain winchester 556 and tried again. It only cycled three rounds, again on the "dirty" setting and would not even eject on the "standard" setting. My question is, would it be possible or even a good idea to open up the port holes on the gas valve since it seems to be a pressure issue? Thanks.

the OEM .223 Swiss Army's ammos are considered well hotter than average U.S. or Euro NATO .223_

I'm not in deep about Sig, and I don't know if that's your case, but could be you must consider that, before modify something_

I would contact Sig before doing a permanent change to your gun. I have never had to deal with Sig directly but i would contact them and see if they will help you out or even let you send the gun into them. Or try a few more types of ammo if you dont want to send the gun in or deal with sig.
