Drones swarm Northern Colorado

Lots of agencies are denying they are affiliated with the drone swarm...

Hobo

LOL! And let me guess, you believe them? LOL!

The Three Rules of the Intel Community:

1. Admit nothing.

2. Deny everything.

3. Make counter accusations to confuse the issue.

Surprised the Feds haven't come out with their tired "it's just a weather balloon, nothing to worry about" bullshit. That's pretty much been their go-to line for any and all suspicious flying objects since Roswell. Yes, your government really thinks you're that stupid.

If the people of the involved counties don't jack up the sheriffs, the sheriffs don't jack up the Attorney General and Governor, and the Governer doesnt jack up the commander of the air national guard, and they fly an interception, and the information doesnt flow back downhill so the sheriff puts out a PSD to let his constituents know something, well, there should be a new sheriff elected... in my world...
And the governor would be on the news telling the people not to worry. Why this has not happened points to a .Gov or .gov contract experiment.
I dont blame the people for being uneasy and upset. They have a right to be, and the Sheriffs have a duty...

Gov Polis is busy worrying about climate change and making safe spots for junkies to shoot up in Denver.
He, like Obama, thinks of that part of our state as full of deplorables who he detests.

@Foul Mike - Im not making fun of you guys out there. Im truly wondering whats going on. I am trying to make light of the situation.

And to be honest, if I lived out there, would probably be unloading a goose shell or two at one. Somewhere away from my property. Inspect it. Take pics.

Its kinda creepy.

Remember to drive an old truck and leave your damn smart phone at home. Take pics with a camera. Keep em to yourself.

In the daylight and getting ready for launch, where do we park all these drones?

Do they launch from a single site or is it mobile.

What range would a six foot drone have.

People have said 30-40 mph, wow. Expensive.

Flying from 7pm till 10PM? 3hrs?
Or between 7 and 10 pm?

Could you start a contest with a bounty for launch / recovery picture

Hire a chopper to run them till out of
Fule.

Go fund me drone hunter.

Get a ham net going, they would have a blast, bag up your phones.

At the least run those drones to ground, if it's federall or civilian they will no longer be able to deny it.

Then they have to pay for a spin doctor to make up creative lies we can laugh and bitch about.

Damn I wish I were there.

Okay 100 people x $200 = $20,000 should be more then enough. I know there’s people here that can make this happen with their contacts.

Freakin skynet somebody better go get Linda Hamilton she’ll know what to do.

Hahaa did you mean Linda Multin Howell? She used to be a local news caster out here in Colorado. Got involved in the UFO/ Cattle mutilation cases back in the 70s. She’s an Independent researcher now. Not a bad idea, I’m sure she wouldn’t have a problem walking up to them and asking them who the hell they are.

Looks like senator Cory Gardner has got the ball rolling....

So for the sake of conversation , what if this were ;

Chinese probing attack . Just to see what our reposne would be and how far they'd be allowed to go within reason . Maybe they wanted to see if and what response .

The same for the US . Plus , what radar signature if any and local respones .

So we are up to 3 states being probed by people that
think they have a right to anonymity?

The government claims no responsibility nor knowledge.
Faa claims no knowledge and appears apethetic to the goings on.

What a bunch of liars. All of them.

They do have the right to anonymity, until the government passes a law that they don't. The rule change means the government will be able to identify drones. It doesn't mean they have to tell you who it is, or what they are doing. It doesn't mean people wont be able to fly groups of 5 to 30 drones over rural areas.

Every news story is running with the 6ft drone story. It sure would be great if someone could even substantiate the size. One person idly speculates with no evidence, and the news networks run with it.

The more recent news stories have been reporting 7-10. What happened to the rest of the hundreds?

They have now been spotted over areas of BFE Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska.

Could this be the point? More regulation to give the Gov even more power and control. Plus make it impossible for us peons to afford compliance.

Why? What would be the point of getting resources on the ground secretly. Then showing everyone you have them, by flying them over BFE CO, KS, and NE with lights flashing so everyone for hundreds of miles can see you. What possible strategic advantage could that give them?

What advantage could this give our government if they want to make a rule changes?

I asked the same question a couple of pages ago.

As a recreational RC plane, copter, and quad copter flyer, I’m concerned about how the proposed regs will impact the hobby. I live within 15 miles of an itty bitty airport that is not staffed, but I’m already required to notify the airport in advance every time a fly a copter in my yard. I emailed them more than a year ago to ask the best way to do that. No response yet. The FAA also required us at one time to get a registration number and put it on or in all of our RC planes. I don’t think they still require that, but IDK for sure. I still have a reg number in all my planes. If we have to start broadcasting an ID from each aircraft, that’s going to be a burden that is unreasonable to put on these short range line of sight model aircraft that I fly. I don’t even have cameras on my quad copters, and I have to disable gps and auto stabilizers to go more than 100 yards away. The quadcopter is set from the factory with that limit.

If you’re 15 miles away from an uncontrolled airport, you almost certainly have uncontrolled Class G airspace above you to 700 or 1200’ AGL.

FAR 107.41 only requires notification for operation in controlled airspace.

Exactly the attitude we out here in BFE have come to expect from the center corridor of this state suffering from sophomania, maybe a lil there bruh?

Is there even a video of these drones? I haven’t seen one yet. I’ve seen one video with one light in the middle of the screen with no sound and no movement. Are these things even real? People keep taking about them, but I’ve seen no proof they they even exist. Maybe I’m an idiot, but I’m about to call bovine scat on the whole “pack-o-drones” thing, and believe it’s more of a Bigfoot sighting than an actual drone sighting. I’m beginning to think it’s one big chain yankin party.

Good to know. Thanks. I looked it up and the airport is class g airspace, so I looked that up and it’s defined as uncontrolled, so that’s a relief. I think I will dust off a quadcopter now.

I cannot believe that this is all to set new laws in place for RC aircraft, it maybe the result, but not the intention.

Drones of this magnitude flown for this long is taking thousands of dollars in equipment and hundreds of man hours to do. You don't do that to pass a few laws "they" would go through all of that? Hell one drone crashed into a commercial aircraft at a major airport, even with no loss of life would allow them to pass any law they wanted.

I don't pretend to know what the purpose is, and I think we're all sure it's defiantly .gov at work. If it wasn't they'd be all over it, hell they were all over my shed when they thought it was to close to they're property lines. You cannot tell me that with all the coverage this is getting somebody in the government hasn't looked into it and either decided or been told to keep quiet.

I am just floored that someone hasn't smoked one out of the air yet. There are simple ways to create group confusion with a small number of people to obscure the shooter. Then a separate vehicle with plausible deniability to approach, live stream and document the downed craft.

Hell, it's only a Felony. Buy soap on a rope first. Just in case.

I can't believe the FAA wouldn't be raising holy hell over something like this just from a safety stand point . Something doesn't sound right .
Exactly! The call them and ask if they have anything to do with it cracks me up too, and prompts the comparison with "Smoking cigarettes is absolutely not dangerous to your health - signed Dr. Marlboro."

Sgt. Hulka, There is video and it is all over the Denver local News broadcasts and sightings by LEOs too.
It has gone on long enough that there are a lot of videos from people all over the area. It is not BS. but you think what you want to.

Personally, I think it is some kind of mapping/exploration shit of some sort that a Govt. agency or Oil Big Biz has going on and they thought they could get by without following all of the rules of FAA etc. because we are so sparsely populated and it has bit them in the ass because these people out here have more situational awareness of their surroundings than the average City dweller does.

I hope we find out what it is, and why, but I seriously doubt we ever will. Maybe years later when the Statute of Limitations frees whoever is doing it from ALL Fines for violating the laws of the land and air they will issue a report but by then Who could give a FUCK?, unless it was something nefarious and you are already FUCKED by their flights.

I really do hope one of our Blessed Bubbas downs one by whatever means and brings it in to be checked out to see what is going on and that may happen but I doubt it. They would probably throw Ole Bubba under the jail and the things seem to be high enough that it is not like shooting geese.

Whoever is doing it, it is a Big Buck $$$$$ operation as that kind and that many drones are not cheap and this Bubba will make no attempts at shooting them down. FM

HA! seriously felonies are committed every minute of every day. A little liquid courage and away they go. I'm just saying, I"m shocked it hasn't happen yet. I do wish I was closer, I would have fun trying to chase them. Seriously, when do you get to have a chance to have fun with a conspiracy such as this, lol.

I got the call if I saw the drones outside and walked outside with the 12 gauge. But I can tell you they were atleast five miles away from me way up in the sky. I have no idea how high as all I could see were red and blue flashing lights. I could not here them. Went back out 10 minutes later and they were gone. I’ve got a hunter in from CO and he said he’s seen them in daylight and they were not small. Flying at night that high unmanned don’t you have to have advanced night vision? Aren’t we talking $100’s of thousands of dollars in equipment?

I am about 50 miles south of you in a less populated part of the state...Bruh. Thought maybe you could figure that out on your own from references to towns and places.

You have a link to videos. All I find when I search is stories with no facts, and light details.

The rule change would not change anything. If people flying don't want to tell the public, who they are, and what they are doing. They will not have to.

Here is the only video I have found.
