Early Model S&B PM question

Found what is claimed to be a well used Schmidt and Bender 3-12 x 50 scope.

It looks pretty legit, but it lacks the SB roll stampings on the eyepiece beyond the 3-12 x 50 spec and + - for the paralax adjust, and no Schmidt and Bender stamping anywhere on the scope. Looks like an early PM2 otherwise, with white/ yellow elevation turret markings.

Any ideas of whether there were knockoffs imported to North America at any point in the last 20 years? What would the other possibilities be?

Is there a Serial number? If so get it and send it to Jerry at Schmidt and Bender, he'll tell you the history of the scope. I have a 3-12x50 PM II and he told me when it was made and what it configured with.

There should be a s/n. Markings on the turrets. And there should also be a 'made in germany' stamp somewhere. Pretty sure the "made in x" COO marking in particular is illegal to replicate if its innaccurate. That being said, for .mil stuff its also possibly certain marks are missing.

It appears it's either a knock off or maybe (but unlikely) .mil

No serial number, no typical SB or COO markings, and where the character '4' is used on the turrets, it's a 'closed top' 4, as opposed to an 'open top' number four character.

Looks pretty accurate otherwise...
