Effects of varying cheekweld when building comb height / removing for cleaning

I just can’t bring myself to like stock packs. I keep going back to vet wrap and foam. I’m setting up a new rifle with a non adjustable comb height. Rings are as low as I can go on an NF ATACR (42mm objective). Has anyone been able to quantify the error introduced by building / rebuilding comb height this way (for cleaning purposes with a boreguide / rod)?

I doubt anyone has quantified it.

But as long as you get it built up where you don’t have to press your face too hard into the butt, it’s not gonna do much harm.

The problem is when people put too much pressure/weight from their face onto the gun. Causes the recoil to jump up and left/right depending on shooter.

You could also (god forbid) just use a chamber brush and boresnake for cleaning.

I remove the BA from the stock for cleaning.

I’m using a McMillan A5 w/ adjustable comb & LOP. My way of setting the comb (cheek rest) in the same place every single time is simple. I’ve cut off a small section of plastic hose from a refrigerator water line (trim to fit individual requirements) & it fits perfectly over the studs / posts on the bottom side of the cheek rest.

The tubing is clear plastic, almost weightless & has held up for the past year w/ no issues.

ETA: Pics of my Homemade spacers. The first pic is the bottom side of the comb & the second is the adjustable comb / cheek piece mounted to the rifle. It’s as repeatable as it gets.
