I picked a POS Ruger American 22 rimfire that is essentially cheap plinker/truck gun. I found a video of Frank doing a review on these from a long time ago. Are they still any good? Natchez has them for $160 currently and seems like a decent option as if the whole rifle gets ripped off I am into the setup about as much as HORUS wants for the ability to put their reticle in a scope. :)

Anyone actually use these things? Complete garbage? I am hoping they are a step up from Vortex Crossfires and such in similar price points.

I have one from when they were MidwayUSA exclusives and yes, it is a good optic for the money. Tracks well and in my opinion the glass punched above its price point especially given 1” tube; knock on it is limited elevation adjustment.

I have three of the GST 3-10x40 and they are a hell of a good scope for $160.00. Spot on tracking and great glass. Its small and light compared to other "tactical" scopes. I would buy another if I needed a scope for a build.

my buddy has one. it's a good scope, the only knock being second focal plane, but that is a matter of preference.

i have a 2-10x42 super slam, and i will tell you the glass in that, to my eye, rivals my scopes that cost a helluva lot more. it is my absolute favorite hunting scope. i wish i woulda bought more when they were still in production.

this scope has good glass and tracks well. at 170, that's a steal of a deal. nothing "el cheapo" about it.

I've used them for PRS type shooting on full power rifles for a few years off an on when I was between scopes, etc. and never had an issue. The only downside is those big non-locking turrets are easy to spin on accident, but if you aren't doing something like moving under time or banging them around on obstacles it probably won't be an issue.
