Anyone else having issues with the email alerting us that we have a new PM? It stopped working yesterday in the morning for me, and last night at midnight my phone went off like a raped ape with 8 new emails saying I had new PM's, but they were sent throughout the day. Ive also recieved 3 today and haven't received any email notifications.

I checked my preferences and it still says yes, send email notification...

I've not had any issues recently, but there was a glitch a while back (maybe a year or so ago) where ALL e-mails from the Hide were blocked by my ISP as SPAM. I ended up contacting the support folks at GeoVario who got it squared away in pretty short order. Not sure if that's the issue with your e-mails, but it could be possible. You can reach them at [email protected] for assistance.

Maybe LL or one of the mods can chime in if there are any other issues going on.

Seems like something happened to the server yesterday as I missed some emails, no clue what it was, nobody said anything

The hosting center had some DNS issues (screwy security patches) starting Tuesday night that went into Wednesday morning, some email notifications were delayed.

Security patches, gotta love um, cuz you can't really shoot um!

Anyway it was all sorted out early morning yesterday, but DNS problems can cause email delays upwards of 10 hours.

If anyone is still having problems certainly email us - support at profedgehost dot com ( or support at geovario dot com ).

Can you email - support at profedgehost dot com - tell us what your email address is - and that you aren't getting emails from here - and my folks will trace the issue.

Ahh... sorry to hear you are the *ahem* the Evil Empire's free email.

If you have some other non-Microsoft owned email you may want to switch to it.

We've seen ALOT of blocks from Microsoft's Email Servers lately whenever a firearms site is sending them "too many emails". Over the past several weeks - we've had a lot of requests to Microsoft support asking them why they are blocking legit email notifications from firearms sites.

BTW - we are still having issues with Microsoft claiming "too many emails" are being sent from Snipershide.com to any Microsoft owned email address.

If you are:

at hotmail com
at live com
at msn com

Your email notifications are being delayed on purpose by Microsoft, we've opened and escalated as many tickets to as many Microsoft Support organizations as possible but so far - they keep saying they're working on the issue - but don't appear to be solving the problem.

About the only thing I can recommend if you are on a Microsoft owned Email account is... You should consider Google's Email, or Yahoo's Email services for your free account.

I'm getting a few that come through at 12:15ish PST, but they are all from acouple days ago and out of order. If I slow the amount of email notifications, will it eventually catch up, or just keep the same pattern of being a few days late?

Great, I was going to post the same.

Everything in the backlog queue is delivered ( after going on 2 weeks of non-stop niggling Microsoft ) - they relented and dramatically increased the Max per Hour limits ( sometime last night it looks like ).

Sent email as well. I have been having this problem with PMs and Subscribed Threads for a while.

Yeah I saw the support guys already traced the backend and found nothing was ever even generated by the UBB Forum software.

I just tweaked a permission for your account here at the Forum level.

See if things work now.

Still not working Michael. I checked a couple of threads that had new responses but I still did not recieve any email notification. I checked Yahoo! spam and my Outlook spam folder and there was nothing in there either. Any thoughts?

Check your preferences. I started not getting them, and I went back in, and for reason the site defaulted, and changed all my settings. I chagned it back to accept email notifications, and I got all of them today!

Man I CANNOT believe this. You were right, I checked my preferences and they were set not to receive emails. I JUST checked it yesterday and it was set to receive emails! Oh well. I will see if it starts working now.

Well, I am still not getting notifications on subscribed threads. I noticed in preferences that there is an option to receive emails for PMs, but didn't see an option for subscribed threads. I just assumed that it applied to both. No?

Michael, I figured it out.
On other forums that I belong to, when you post to (or start) a thread you automatically receive updates/emails you when new posts are posted in the thread. In this forum, even if you start the thread, you have to select "Topic Options" and then choose "Add this topic to your watch list" from the drop down menu. Since I did this, I have been receiving emails whenever any new posts are posted to the thread.
