Our early duck season is finally here! or at least it will be tomorrow.
I've got the boat loaded up and ready to go.
After the morning hunt, we'll open up some creeks for better access later in the season.
I added the piece to enclose the front end. Not a lot of room in there, but it will hold a couple of life vests and maybe a small bag or two.
Hello?
Do you have wired phone service in your duck boat?
I don't either.
I looked for over a month for the right kind of plastic box to close in the wiring on the newly relocated switches. When I'd all but given up, I mentioned it to a hunting buddy who works for the local telco.
In about 30 seconds, my hunt was over!
This should keep the wires out of the weather and more importantly, keep us from knocking them around in the dark.
When I rewired the switches, I added a pigtail for the spotlight. The light cord has the male end and the pigtail has the female end of a standard lamp cord, so the light can be removed completely or replaced easily.
The light stows nicely in the decoy bag when not in use on the hunt.
I'll hopefully have some freshly deceased woodies, mallards, and maybe a teal or two for you tomorrow!
