FIRE EMERGENCY in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. 01/07/2025. Winds of 60-100mph forecast tonight that will accelerate Palisades blaze.

What the fuck are you talking about insurance not paying because of "natural disasters" come on man, you are better than that

Look at your car policy….

Lots say that natural disasters and acts of war are not covered.

Hey, if covered… good for them.

Do they cover it if you abandon it and the city has to remove with bulldozer? Bet lots of folks find that their auto policies are not what they think they are.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Authorities are investigating the theft of nearly 100 fire hydrants in Los Angeles County this year, sheriff's officials said Monday.

Some 85 hydrants have been stolen in unincorporated areas of the county, and another 14 in Lynwood, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

So… people think they can set them up outside their houses and water will appear?

Or are they getting ten cents a pound at scrapper?

it's a big mess.

but.....they let this leadership in and bow to the bullshit. it's madness. and it's not unknown.

i know there are people suffering. but sometimes it is really hard to have sympathy for people that do it to themselves. yeah, i know that is over simplifying things. at this point....it's in God's hands. it all is anyway....we just like to kid ourselves that it's not.

The LAFD told people if they were leaving vehicles behind, to leave the keys in them.

I'm sure if it came up missing, Allstate would cover it. No problem. 🙄

What's to loot? Their stuff is all smoldering junk. None of them have guns. They all use their Apple Pay and noone has cash. What... Giant Dildo Collection at Paris Hilton's house? Cases of baby oil stacked in garages? Grammy's? Who wants those!

And how do you carry anything off on a gay-assed scooter? Even the Amish aren't that dumb.

Now looting that place in the 1960's would have been awesome! Of course, Sammy Davis Jr. would have shot six holes in you in half a second.... But it would be fun until that point!

I’m having a hard time finding compassion for a bunch of these clowns. 1st, scumbag Newscum straight out lies to the woman about talking with the president and is never confronted about why did he just lie straight to her face. Then, she says, everyone that went to school there, they lost their homes, they lost 2 homes because they were living in one home and they were building another home. I’m sorry, but you are not like the rest of us. If you’re building a second home in that area, I’m guessing you’re way better off than a lot of us. I do have compassion and feel bad for those that have generational homes and are only living there because they bought their homes so long ago, before the elite priced them out of ever being able to afford to actually buy that same property today.

Any reports on the performance of fire rated gun safes?
(I know there are restricted in California, but many have them registered or whatever.)
what????? You cannot have a fire rated gun safe? What if I don't store guns in a gun safe; but hard drives, basic paperwork, laptop, etc just to keep out of the ordinary thief's hand? In the CRoK (communist republic of kali), do you just have to buy a "thief proof" save instead?

From what I can tell gun safes are required out there. That said they have some very strict regulations on what they have to have for locks and child proof, etc. etc. etc. So they may have written the law in such a way that lots of safe companies can’t sell their products there.

But I suspect the OP was referring to guns being regulated and illegal not the safes. Cheers

You left out the part where Sammy would have done his fancy trick stuff like on The Rifleman before he shot holes in the creep 6 times. That obviously is what you meant since you said "half-a-second." :) :). Sammy was bad ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Considering that there were some photos of engine blocks being turned into molten lava, not sure how much better the safes would have faired

Not likely to be covered

When I lived out there, we had to carry a specific supplemental rider to cover us for losses due to wildfires and/or earthquakes. None of those events were part of your general policy.

I was just at the local safe company on Tuesday and we were discussing this regarding all of the fires we have seen in the Northern Sacramento Valley and surrounding Mountains. Just a partial list of fires by name: Fountain (1992), French, Dixie, Camp, Carr, Hirz, Delta, Park (2024). Most gun safes FAILED because of the length of exposure and temperatures exceeded the rating of the Safe by many times. Direct hear for several hours at 500* above the tested temperature WILL destroy the contents.

The ones that he saw with the better survival rate were the high dollar/heavy units with the special cement mix between two slabs of steel, not the gypsum board between two pieces of sheet metal. Also where the safe was kept made a difference. Those in a basement or ground floor ended up just cooking when the rest of the structure collapsed on it.

A lot of factors contribute to a safe’s contents survivability.

The libtards were in a panic to evacuate. Probably a lot of jewelry and Patek Philippes left behind in the unburned houses.

That would be insane. That kind of asset should be in one place and easy to grab. However, you are likely right. They are dumb, and preparedness is not in a libtards quiver.

Given that some of the housing is from monied people there is probably more to loot than at the dollar store. 2nd, 3rd, 4th homes no one took any valuables before it all went up in smoke.

Even them paris hilton dildo collection :ROFLMAO: , they might have more of a haul with her shoe collection.

Besides , have you seen amish loting clothes shoes etc,......... during fiery but mostly peaceful riots ,

After the Camp Fire in Paradise, California. A safe store owner did videos of the opening of over a dozen safes, only AMSEC safes had contents that survived, the other safes had destroyed contents. It is good information on who to trust. The safes had to be pried open to break the fire seals.

I kick myself in the arse for not getting an AMSEC when I found a new one on closeout. Wasn't quite the size I wanted, but hell, at that price I coudl have bought a cheaper safe for stuff that I'm only interested in grab and go protection.

It has little to do with the manufacturer. It has everything to do with whether the safe has a UL or ETL fireproof rating. If it does, your safe has undergone testing to ensure its internal temperature does not exceed 350 degrees for the rating period listed on the label. Most low cost manufacturers skip this testing.

Sad the company with the massive 747's with tanking capability all went broke.

I guess the old DC-10s (10Tanker) still fly; but I guess not in this catastrophe.

Cali is an absolute mess; but...they voted on it....their problem.
