FIRE EMERGENCY in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. 01/07/2025. Winds of 60-100mph forecast tonight that will accelerate Palisades blaze.

In one bit of good news… it appears that James Woods house did survive. A bit scorched… but ok!

Apparently there are quite a few houses in Palisades that made it, despite the Hiroshima-like images.

That’s not uncommon. Maintenance, defensible space, and decent materials all contribute to survivability. I can remember doing pre-planning for our Engine’s AO and we’d make notes on our maps and suggestions to the homeowners for both of our benefit. California Mountains are not the place to have a shake roof and siding with trees and grass growing next to and touching the building. Cords of firewood and bales of feed stacked against a house also moved the house down the triage line. Granted, this wasn’t in an urban environment but the basics remain the same.

Insurance companies suck ass. Have had USAA since 2006 when I joined the army. Back then was a great company. Now not so much. Had my first insurance claim in 18 years last year after a hail storm here in CO, which we pay extra for anyway cause of state regulation, my rates doubled after that claim.

Well fuck USAA, went to another company and now paying a bit less then I was originally for same coverage.

Guaranteed I paid well more over those 18 years then my claim was for.

I know a family in the north east that has a son out there and somehow despite fire literally burning the hedges at his property line and within about 30 feet of house (as I understood) had his house survived. He wouldn’t leave the house because he wanted to get his dogs out; but eventually left and apparently it survived. From what I know of his family, he’d not be a libtard.

But it is still hanging fire.

Yeah, honestly, I don't care one way or the other. With as much of a shitshow that this has been so far, the chief will end up getting whacked sooner or later. If all these idiots had any honor, they'd all commit Hari Kiri in the town square for everyone to see.

Regardless of what anyone thinks about the capabilities of women, trannies, LGBT types, etc., it is inconceivable that they individually and/or collectively could have fucked things up any worse than they are. It is highly unlikely that if they were intentionally trying to fuck things up, it could be any worse than what it is now.

Isn't there an Adult in the room somewhere, so the children can go home and not make things any worse than what they are ?

Scapegoat. As much as the DEI/LGBTQRST+ is an abomination, she had been requesting through her budget submittals to increase the FFE numbers and budget. Since she is the Chief, she has had to kiss ass and swallow as much as a WASP Chief would have.

Now the Training Chief on the other hand, well, she seems to have gotten herself in the wrong place. . .

and it took islamic terrorism off the front pages as well.
This is the short term success the deep state hoped for. Those “Islamic terrorist” actions are also full of logical holes. No logical thinker believes the constantly adjusting media narrative. Turns out DEI and carefully incubated societal mediocrity has completely infected the whole elite/deep state org chart too.

i was watching this guy yesterday. totally takes your attention away from whatever they are actually saying.
i don't even know if it was real sign...when the speaker repeated herself, i didn't see the same signs again.

.

almost seems like the commie was planning for a major fire to break out. Bass doing all she can to create hate, division, and chaos.
or (tinfoil time) they wanted to recreate their utoptia, with apartments (not allowed due to zoning) and more diversity.
think of all the graft as the "rebuilding" contracts are doled out.

Certainly appears that way if the Commie Fish Mayor is ready to fire her. But then again, this group of people, appointed in many cases based on discriminatory factors and not ability, seem to turn on each other rather quickly when the chips are down. Then again, if you’re in public office, that’s the risk you take…shit’s going to happen and how to deal with it…when one is chooses incompetence over competence this is what happens.

For me personally, I care less if this chief is lesbian and name based off Kristin, than I am that shit is burning up. As capitalist, I shouldn’t care if this chief is LGBTQ+sqrt(R)-Z^3, just whether or not they can do their job. If they do their job well, it matters not to me so long as they don’t push that LGBTQ+ side of themselves to me, my customers, etc, etc.

Question for the day: Adjusted for the cost of living in Los Angeles, are the millionaire celebrities, who lost their homes to the fires, going to get more than $750 from FEMA, before Poopy Pants leaves office?

I know this is the pit, so I understand the rhetoric, but I hope you all understand that 32% of L.A. County voted for Trump.

California does have a lot of "Libtards". But it also has a lot of good, God fearing conservatives that are fighting the fight instead of walking away. These good people just happen to be outnumbered by the morons.

Thousands of these good people just lost everything.

Well, I agree to some extent with Justine, make sure somebody can do the job...a lot of incompetent R's as well (like Crenshaw, Puffter Lindsay G), but she's a bit of fresh air in this video...she's definitely pissed. And obviously hasn't bought into the "I have to look like I'm 20, even though I'm pushing 60" thing.

But I'd have to say many of the "D" are incompent placed there by the Soros/Schwab/Gates crime syndicate.

I find it interesting that when the little towns up here burn, or NC washes away, it’s not much of a concern, but LA burns after Cali has actively tried the destroy the US for years, and suddenly it’s a tragedy. None of this is accidental.

Hell, they don’t even care if it is a bunch of communities in CA! We scrape together to help our neighbors and get a “whatever” from LA and the Bay.

I think it is a concern, and I think both are tragedies. I think the coverage of the LA fires is because of the magnitude of the damage. The fires are not even out, and the damage estimates have already eclipsed hurricane Katrina and are more than double hurricane Sandy.

The other reason it's big news is that it was preventable. The destruction could have been avoided or at least significantly mitigated by good governance. I hope the people in charge that failed their constituents hang.

The same can be said of Sodom and Gomorrah.

How much did California send to Ukraine?

How much did California spend on benefits for illegals?

How much did they spend on saving smelt?

How much did they spend on DEI and rainbow shit!

How much did they spend attacking Trump and Republicans?

How much would it have cost to keep reservoirs filled and “fix” the fire fuel situation in the mountains.

Those are the numbers everyone needs to hear…
