Saw a pic of damage to leading edge........expanding foam in hole......let cure......trim to leading edge......gorilla tape....and get back in the air.

I'm not a cert. airplane tech / mech..and know "my fix" would be a "no no", but sometimes " rules" ..............well,are just "rules".
If I had the ability to fly one of those, I'd get my ass up in there and get back to work.

Having said all the above, there could be other air frame structure problems that isn't visible in pic that I saw,and the above comments dont/ can't apply.

Opinions from an Ultralight pilot, ( Weedhopper) ,probably are not to be followed 😁

From the little news reporting I have read on all this fire stuff other than what's posted here, I've come to the following conclusions:

1) North Carolina got screwed royally. I hope those folks in NC wake the heck up and stop voting for team commie.

2) California is a lost cause. The blame is seriously going to Trump by some people, press defending pretty-boy with good hair, and the DEI crowd.

One would think by this point, the populous would be getting some tar and feathers or building gallows.

But, because they still, despite losing everything (rich or poor) in some cases, cannot for the life of them see that its NOT FREAKING CLIMATE CHANGE they'll continue to support these Marxists. However, when it's somebody else's fault...not their failed belief system and policies that come from that belief system they can continue to live in ignorance. They don't have to suffer single digit temps in rain, snow and sleet in a tent or shelter while PedoPotus Joe-the-Hair-Sniffer is pledging BILLIONS to CA. Despite much of the destruction is due to 100000000000% incompetence they get all this money. Unlike NC, TN, GA, SC and FL which had pretty much nothing to do with incompetence and was for the most part a natural process of nature as I see it - but they get all of $700.

Oh I don’t feel sorry for them,all resources will be dedicated to the “left coast”. I’m telling you: I have an aviation business, ten years ago there about 20 underwriters for our industry. The Boeing shitshow of crashes and a few others have reduced it to about nine, maybe less. The others went bankrupt paying claims. Insurance and resources, lumber, sheetrock and other building materials will skyrocket up. California economy is ranked number 5 in the world. And President Potato Brain said the government (you and me) will cover the rebuild cost. 🤡🌎

I remember once an older country coonass was being interviewed by a local tv station while he was trying to cut a tree up and the lady asked him what could be done to help him, he took his gloves off and handed them to her and said get busy with that saw. The interview stopped at that point. I was rolling on the ground.

People better wake the fuck up because your sugar daddy will leave you on the side of the road when things head south. Ask Hawaii, NC, FL, CA and many others in recent history how they were treated by their abusive daddy.

And, what I haven't seen anyone talking about yet is that next fall, the rains will come and there will be flooding and mudslides. The year after, the vegetation/undergrowth will re-establish itself, dry out and the fires will start all over again.

I suppose a little good news for those with homes still standing is that a lot of homes surrounding them burned, partially depriving the next round of fires of fuel. However, those empty lots where homes recently stood will quickly be overgrown with new fuel.

Seems kind of silly to rebuild when the city, county and state services/fire protection are so totally lacking. Personally, I'd just get the fuck out for good.
