Got a chance to get out and do a bit of hog hunting last night. Taken a few varmints with it but no pigs. Its a Stag 1:7 16" upper, w/Spkies lower. 68 Hornady Match. D760 scope with adj. gain. Night Optics IR-K2. The IR-K2 is pretty awesome for a not as expensive IR. Has a high and low setting. Works very well out to 400-500y.
Had to hike in to get downwind. Setup in a clearing along a riverbank in a pecan bottom. Could hear em coming in, popping their teeth, etc. Was kinda unnerving since the grass was so tall and I had a max of about 50y from where they would come out.
This guy decided to sneak up to my right. After watching him for a bit, he started to get behind me and wind me. Boom. Approx. weight was 150 or so. Nasty little monster. Thanks Hunter and crew for getting me set up.
Note- Check out the AMDEF mount that Hunter hooked me up with. It allows the 760 to move farther back for better eye relief. Plus, it is lighter and easier to remove than the standard Night Optics mount.
