Am I the only one that's growing tired of the multiple steps it takes to get raw data from the Garmin, into usable Excel format? I'm just finding it tedius to email raw data to myself, pull it from emal to CSV in Excel, and the massage the data strings to not error out and allow me to build charts and analytical views? I mean ... I'm no fan of the "Big Orange Brick" (LabRadar), but I have to say that pulling the SD card from the unit, sucking it into a spreadsheet where it was immediately formatted and available for use ... was WAY better than the multi-step gyrations the Garmin requires.

    Am I alone?

It is kinda annoying but I guess it depends on how deep you want to get into it. I have an excel spreadsheet for all my loads so I import the Garmin CSV files into the spreadsheet, convert text to numbers and link it to the appropriate sheet.

I do the same thing ... but I'm getting weary of those steps. I have a new and untested Velociradar that I'm going to try out on my next range trip and see how I feel about it. I like the calculated BC and some other features, but haven't drilled into what it takes to move data. Time to get off my ass and figure that out.

Perhaps there’s a way to build a macro?

On the Mac there’s a built-in tool called Automater, where you can link disparate app functions etc (I think…been a while).

There’s a lot of room for improvement regarding how the sessions are stored and referenced. Shouldn’t even be a reason to have to transfer to excel when an app could handle all the data analytics for you.

I love the Garmin but it sucks at data management in my opinion. The Bulletseeker app was pretty good and the device recorded atmospherics. Considering Garmin has all those integrated into most of their products that seemed like a big miss too. But they know they got all our money and will push v2 sometime and get all our money again lol.

Ah, personally I don't see the objection. I email it to myself from the range. I double click on the attachment when I get home and it opens in Excel. I then cut/paste into tracking/LD spreadsheets I maintain.

The LR micro SD card was fine but the only step it alleviated is the emailing which pretty much takes no time on my iPhone.

Doesn't mean anybody needs to agree with me...if you don't like it, then you don't like it. All good.
