OP: I agree completely with Hitman. You really need to look at the various optics available in your price range and really start deciding on what features you like the most. When I was looking for a scope for my GAP non-typical hunter, I knew i wanted turrets, a mil dot, top of the line glass, and something that was light (compact). I was initially looking at S&B but in the end went with a Premier light tactical due to weight, compact size, glass quality, etc.
When money starts to not become an issue, you need to realy take time reading about each individual scope, make a pro and con list and then make a decision. I know for my GAP, i looked at several scopes, read up on them, and then made a decision, and I couldn't be happier.
I'm currently contemplating a 338LM build and have the rifle spec'd and am now looking at glass. Its a process and takes time, and in the end there is no perfect choice.
If you must have a suggestion, then I suggest you look at the Premier line as well as the S&B line. Its always better to cry once and get the best compared to crying twice when you deal with lesser quality initially. Best of luck.
