Does he have a police scanner and understand coded communication to determine that local LE are being geared up to assist SS? I figured out why I sometimes think that events like this are set up. Not that it was but easy to think that it could have been.

Most of us spend all of our lives avoiding collisions. The Beast driver has to be able to drive through obstructions because the job is to evade and escape.

The advance teams that arrive before a visit. The setting up of sniper hides at each point in the route of a president's appearance.

And this most importantly, I think. Keeping up with the crazies that want to do something. Granted, Trump is not president anymore but he still has some secret service detail. That is, the SS may not do the actual investigation but they can follow up on leads given to them by other intelligence agencies. For example, the FBI.
