Crony capitalism... is at the heart of fascism... which is exactly what these guys say they are against. Yet they are all up to their eyeballs in it. Fascsim is, by definition, crony capitalism. Where private citizens own the means of production (vs Communism where the 'people' own the means of production.) And the government is in league with the private citizens to provide workers and control competition. This is how these people operate.
Heck, even Bernie the full-blown communist is a multi-millionaire... yet never cashed anything but the check of an elected-office-holder. Said that when Communism was ascendant, there would be a group of people within the ruling class that would 'jump on board' and espouse Communist values, believing that there would never be a full implementation, but that when the Communists came to power, they would be needed... for their assets, their wise counsel, their education, their ability to 'run things like they always had.' Marx and Lenin both made sure to explain that these people would have to be liquidated early after the Revolution. Even though they were useful during the time leading up to the Revolution. They made no bones that these people were counter-revolutionary, even though they acted all "commie and stuff" and would have to go. And you know what Lenin and Stalin and Trotsky and Dzerninsky and all the other good little revolutionaries did? They killed them!
Eventually, these folks will lose their ability to quash the questions. And they won't have plum favors to hand out. And largesse and money. And then the long knives come out.
