I have the Arctise AS90C, a 52mm from Arctise, and the exact same 52mm from Innorel. Upon receiving the first of these I was very pleased with the smoothness of the movement and its constant and predictable clutching. Long story short I put these levers on one night and alas, they really work well. I've used them for all sorts of things; rifles (from 9# to 22#, 270 and 338LMAI), cameras, rangefinders, and even a table top. Here's a photo showing "too tight" on the left and "too loose" on the right. The arc is around 300* no need for a full revolution which makes them very fast and simple to operate.
Yes, but it works much better if the clutching is minutely less than full hold (lockdown).Do these ball heads hold the rifle in place yet allow movement sans your lever, @338LMAI ?
That’s exactly what I’m looking for and I’m not sure if I can get it sans buying an Anvil 30 and adapter plate.Yes, but it works much better if the clutching is minutely less than full hold (lockdown).
Here’s the pictures of the Matton tripod I purchased. The Leofoto leveling base didn’t work with the stock bowl on the new unit, but it did work with my old PVA Tripod. The RRS leveling base works O.K. In the Matton tripod with the stock Matton bowl (without the RRS bowl), but not as RRS designed. The leveling base gets into the tripod before it would normally bottom out. I’m waiting for my Arca clamp to show up, but I can already tell that I will be upgrading it to something with a quick throw lever. My initial impression is that these Matton legs would work fine with something like a 52mm ball head. They have metallic lock collars, and very similar (appearing) carbon to the PVA. The PVA has a very distinct advantage with the removable bowl. In short, my plan didn’t work out 100%, however I will make it work with what I have for the time being. More pictures to come.
Correct the adapter doesn't work with a integrated bowl.
Well, I know what is going on the top of my Christmas list...AG Tripod Caddy. Some pictures of the Armageddon tripod cady on the RT90

I think I am going to give this setup a try.View attachment 7387953View attachment 7387956
The Artcise 52mm ball head and the Artcise AS90C seem solid for the money!!
Yes you canCan I attach a pig saddle directly to the bowl adapter while I save up for the Anvil or a ballhead? Im worried there would be no range of movement.
I'm basically going to get a AS90c for free, I have 250 bucks in amazon gift cards, so my question is has anyone ever broken one of these or the RT90 tripod, I can afford the full RRS setup, but I shoot USPSA more now with my Infinity pistol, and only want a tripod for spotting and occasional shooting from, so if you broke one in any way please let us know
Plus Innorel sent him a new leg on top of it.Once upon a time someone pulled a leg out but was able to fix it.
I think there both pretty close compared to one another with the RT80 being a upgrade .Would the rt80 be OK for say a 20 pound rifle
Using a slik 700 currently

No more than I shoot off a tripod it's hard to justify a bunch of money
I typically use mine for glass duty and if allowed rear support since a few of the local matches essentially wrote them out with rules changes. It seems tripods are used more for rear support than shooting from these days at the comps I'm attending. Many comps don't have a "tripod" stage anymore. So guys, and gals, are finding other uses. The rear support works really well once you get the feel.
That's exactly what I'm seeing. Which sucks because I like and am good and enjoy shooting off tripod. It's a fantastic platform to shoot from. Standing, kneeling, sitting down, and prone if you have the right tripod.I typically use mine for glass duty and if allowed rear support since a few of the local matches essentially wrote them out with rules changes.
can i get 1st dibs? let me kno if u decide to move it!Well after having a rt90 for about 6months and not having used it other than in the basement, I think I'm going to part with mine.
It's listed in the PX. I tried a leveling base with pan and a clamp. It did make for a solid platform for my spotting scope. I actually stacked the leveling base with the one that came with it to look at jupiter and saturn this summer. Add them together and I had 30⁰ I could look up lolcan i get 1st dibs? let me kno if u decide to move it!
I’ve got this one that I’m planning on hunting with. I like it so far.Well after having a rt90 for about 6months and not having used it other than in the basement, I think I'm going to part with mine. I never even considered taking it with me hunting because of its size. Gonna go for something smaller.
How do you guys like the as80c?
I've taken the as80c hunting. It's very stable for glass but I'd personally still want a dedicated hunting tripod. Something lighter and more compact.Well after having a rt90 for about 6months and not having used it other than in the basement, I think I'm going to part with mine.
