I went into a local gun store and saw NC Star shite on the shelf. Personally I consider it immoral to sell crap products. Caveat emptor and all only goes so far. I will only sell something if I know it will perform as intended for the user, OR if I advertise it as broken/inoperable/scrap/junk. I would NOT ever sell a customer NC Star garbage because that is the equivalent of stealing from retards at the asylum.

Just because any educated, reasonably-minded consumer should be able to do their due diligence and determine what products are great and what products are shite doesn't mean that they actually do it. Joe Lunchbox does not want to spend 850 to 2500 dollars for a scope. They want to spend 70 or 80 bucks.
Of course, I've watched those guys trying to zero their rifles at 100 yards and were unable to do it. I sometimes tell them it is because of their scope, but I usually stay mum, just because I do not want to embarass them.
There ARE decent budget scopes out there, Mueller comes to mind as does Nikon and Bushnell.
I understand the desire to be thrifty, iv'e done it. i have been lucky. I had one Mueller scope crap out on me. I sent it back and they sent me a brand new onw, no questions.
The thing is, on some of these scopes, the glass is actually pretty decent but the internals are total crap.
So, if you are Joe, tooling around at the gunshow with 150 bucks burning a hole in your pocket, you pick up an NC Star scope and look through it and it seems just as good as the 300 Buckmaster or VX1, what are you going to do, You are going to buy the NC Star.
Companies wouldn't sell them if folks didn't buy them. Kudo's to the business owners that won't carry crap that would be a waste of money.

the market is full of sub-par products, not just rifle scopes but in every single retail corner... it's up to the consumer to make a decision and so long as there isn't deceptive claims about a products capability then sell away.

This is a funny topic. I know quit a few guys that keep the market up with shitty scope because they believe in them. They look at my scope like the Swfa scopes and say dammmmm! There are also some "good" Brands,( I'm not calling them out by name, as it would make some jump up and down while P*(&^on themselves) that market some really low end cheap crap, maybe even worse than NC Star, I don't know if making really crappy scopes, putting your name on them, while also offering at a much higher price a much better quality scope puts you "above" someone not worried about putting their name on nothing but low end products. Someone is buying this stuff, don't blame the makers, blame the buyers.

I wouldn't sell it if I owned a gun shop. Not for moral reasons though. I would think it would undercut my sells of lower end decent scopes (the 200$ish scope price range). I wouldn't find it immoral to sell the products though. NCstar has it's place. For the people that can't tell the difference and are only going to ever fire 1 box of ammo through thier weapon and place it on a shelf for 20 years, it's a good buy. For people who are simply stupid, I don't have a problem selling it to either. Those that are actually mentally retarded, not just fucking idiots, I wouldn't sell to.

While I do not own any NC Star optics I do have one green laser from them and its well built. I would not bat an eye at selling them but I would not sell their optics for guns. I have never looked through their spotters, I hear they are not as bad as their other optics.
