Night Vision kinda odd an/peq 2a

Has anyone seen this type of insight an/peq 2a? it has a weird metal stud behind the mounting screw and on/off button. Its a agency owned legit peq2 but when they showed it to me i have never seen a anpeq 2 a like that its nsn is NSN-5855-01-447-8992. If that helps just curious

Yeah, call up Vic or one of the guys at TNVC and ask him. If he doesn't know, not sure who will.

Now I've seen more than my fair share of PEQ2's but the ONE I've never seen in person is the PEQ2B --the bravo unit has a pulsed laser. This one works on low and high? Is the laser pulsed? If not, then I have no idea and am curious too.

It’s an RFID tag—some military units use them for inventory control, I’m assuming since you said it was a legit agency unit, it probably came from 1033 or a similar program to roll over military equipment for LE use.

On second thought that button LOOKS familiar but never seen one on a PEQ, and still never seen a PEQ2B FWIW.

Wish we'd had 'em when I was in and this dumbshit medic put it in his ruck. We spent a week scouring Yakima looking for it. Six months later, he FINALLY empties his ruck out (nasty bastard never bothered to clean any of his TA50 I guess) and the damn PEQ falls out. How they didn't find it in Yakima I'll never know because they dumped all our rucks and searched 'em. That tag and an RFID scanner and we wouldn't have spent an extra boring week in the ugliest, most desolate place in the US.
